Illusion Tinted Moisturizer
Pricey But Worth It
First of all, in spite of this being called a 'tinted moisturizer', don't be fooled. The coverage it gives is superior to any foundation I've tried. I have a LOT of redness, uneven skin tone, open pores, you name it - and this covers it all, and gives me the most amazing glow. If you find the luminosity too much, you can add powder on top - it tones the effect down, but you still retain a slight 'glowy' look. I've also tried the Immaculate Powder Foundation, but the coverage it gave me just wasn't as good as this. I have oily-combo skin, and even with a primer, I've found that the majority of foundations tend to fade into my skin after a few hours - this one stays put. I'm a little confused about the shades though. The swatches on spacenk don't look anything like the actual colours. When I first bought this tinted moisturizer, I got the Light Beige, which has a slight orange tint and looks a bit dark on me. I decided to try the Ivory shade, which btw, ISN'T at all. Anyone who has a very fair complexion will probably find it too dark. I'm not entirely sure the Ivory is the right match for me but it seems to adjust to my skin tone after a while. I still have some Light Beige left over and I've been mixing a tiny drop in with the Ivory. American website Sephora states that Shell is for porcelain complexions with light undertones, Ivory for fair complexions with neutral undertones, Light Beige for light to medium complexions with neutral undertones, Sand is beige for light to medium complexions with peach undertones, Beige is medium golden beige for medium complexions with yellow undertones, and Warm Beige is deep tan for medium to dark skins with yellow undertones. But is Sand lighter than Light Beige or darker? It would be very useful if photograpsh of the actual colours were included.

Saw the display in Space NK and read up about the product. So glad I bought this! THE best on the market. Superb coverage. Looks airbrushed. Stays all day. Couldn't ask for more. Definitely performance wear. So impressed.

This product is very much like a sheer to medium coverage foundation, so it is very good in terms of providing noticeable coverage. The colour match to my skin is perfect (I use Ivory and am between a MAC NW20-25.) It is not too dewy but it is not matt, so it is a nice, natural finish on the skin.
However, it does not spread easily. Using a brush will leave brush strokes across the face, and I have found the best way to apply it is with fingers. It requires a lot of massaging this way in order for the product to blend into the skin, and then some smoothing so it doesn't streak.
It also requires a light dusting of powder to be set, or it will move around, but it is still not very forgiving on dry skin. Moisturising immediately before is therefore a must.
It is a good product but it requires more work that I thought it would, unfortunately!
