With proper care, diptyque candles burn for 50 to 60 hours. Here are tips for safely prolonging the life of your candles.
Burn Time
The first time you burn your diptyque candle, allow it to burn for at least two hours, until the whole top is liquid with wax. This will help your candle burn more evenly the next time.
Trim The Wick
Before lighting your diptyque candle, trim the wick to 1/4-inch length. By shortening the wick you allow it to burn more slowly and also avoid unsightly black smoke marks around the edge of the glass.
Realign The Wick
After blowing out your candle, re-center and straighten the wick.
Safety
Never leave a lit candle unattended. This could be a fire risk. Always place your candle on a level, heat resistant, non-flammable surface away from fabric or drapes. Choose an area free from drafts to avoid uneven burning. Do not place your candle on a marble or glass surface. If the bottom of the hot candle glass comes in contact with a cold material, the glass may crack.

Best Candle
This is my absolute favorite candle. The scent is strong, but not never overpowering. Diptyque candles also have a long life and the glass jar is a good look and can be used for something else when the candle runs out. This is definitely my favorite scent from Diptyque!

Not worth the money
I’ve had several Diptydue candles in the past and I’ve never had a poor experience until now. The Feu de Bois does not have a strong scent like other Diptyque candles, but it is a nice winter scent nonetheless. The main issue is that it does not burn evenly. I let it burn for 3 hours and one side of the candle did not melt. I’ve never had this happen before and I simply asked customer service if I could exchange it, but it was out of stock. They asked for pictures, which I provided, then took several days to respond and ultimately provided me with instructions as to how to properly trim the wick and go let it burn for at least 1 hours. Simply a waste of $95.00. I will say, my other purchase, the ambre scented candle, is burning well and the scent is wonderful.

Autumn/Winter Candle
I love this candle and have bought it multiple times. To me, it is the perfect autumn/winter candle. While not a perfect replacement for an in-house fireplace, it does replicate the smoky firewood feel. It has excellent throw as well.
