I find this to be a pretty good liquid eyeliner, and there isn't a problem with flow/pigment if you press the brush firmly a couple of times on your hand to get it flowing. sometimes I need to do two applications, and if you do that you need to wait for the first to dry (which takes maybe 30 seconds). I particularly love the Koala colour, which is very hard to find in any other brand. It's a cool toned grey/brown that is perfect with my dark eyelashes and eyebrows - looks very natural and doesn't make me need to wear mascara like a true black eyeliner does, as my almost black eyelashes immediately look brown next to a black. It also stays put all day, and has even survived gym sessions.

It stays put all day...
I'm confused by the other reviews.
I've bought this eyeliner in Carpates and Atlantic (black and navy to you and me) many times and always found it to be a deep colour, with brilliant staying power and no smudging at all.
Also navy pen liner is surprisingly hard to find.

Loved the blue colour, but the formula dries out after a few uses :(

Not what I expect from Nars
I've got lots of Nars products which I love, but this is by far the worst liquid liner I've used. The liner works on your hand but when you go to use it on your eye nothing comes out and when it does the colour is a little watery.

I bought the brown one, as brown is rare as a liquid eyeliner (I normally use the superb Kevin Aucoin black liquid liner or wet black powder with a paint brush).
Anyway, I wanted something brown, Nars is usually superb, this is dreadful.
What is wrong with it?
The pigment level is beyond poor: it is the colour of a weak tea bag, with the coverage of said weak tea or brown watercolour. I shook it, just in case: same thing.
If you try to do a very thin line, you will see almost nothing. To see some colour the line must be made with full pressure and is hence very thick (2mm or more).
It does have staying power though on bare skin: nothing will shift that browny stain.
By some miracle, this weak pigmented liquid clumps so you get little bumps of 'stuff' that your felt tip can skid on, making your line wonky. This is because the liner does not like eye shadow, primer or powder and will clump with it.
It is so incredibly bad that I thought I must be doing something wrong. As a reference point, I experimented on the back of the hand: it dries to a light henna stain with a sheen to it, so the pigment is weak there too. Furthermore, if you try to do a flick or vary the thickness the pigmentation weakens on the outer part of the flick as the brush seems to have very poor flow and spring making the delivery of pigment erratic.
On my hand again, I tried with powder and / or foundation: it clumped and dragged.
I have tried to use this eyeliner everyday for 9 days running, varying the other make-up used and techniques, and every time I had the same dreadful result with this liner. I give up.
