I have several By Terry brushes and am so happy with them that I ordered this brush online without testing it in the shop when I needed a new foundation brush. Unfortunately, it did not live up to my expectations and does do all the wrong things. It uses to much product and you automatically apply too much foundation (but it doesn't seem to work with less). It has a revered does shape (i.e. the outer hairs are longer than the centre ones) and the result is that you have to press harder when you want to apply foundation evenly to larger areas of you face (like cheeks and forehead) but then you end up with too much product at the edge of your face (mask effect). I mainly use a foundation brush to help me apply foundation in the corners (e.g. the nose), have an even and airbrushed finish and make the foundation longer lasting, but this brush gives a stripy finish and is tricky to use for the nose due to the fact that the inner hairs are shorter. Also, it applies too much product too areas like the cheeks but seems to polish off any foundation I try to apply to my nose area - the opposite of what I want and need. And it isn't very dense and the hairs stick together (wett cat look) when using liquid foundation. But the result with powder foundation is even worse: it doesn't blend well and, again, you end up with too much product. On the plus side can be said that it is a good size, light and easy to handle, but I am very disappointed with the result it produces.
