Smells like linseed
I got a small bottle of Augustinus Bader Face Oil in my Space NK advent calendar and was excited to try it. Firstly the smell is really weird, it reminds me of Linseed Oil and is very thick. When you put it on it takes quite a while for it to sink in and left a sticky film over my skin. I have used other face oils for less money and don’t think that this is any better, considering how expensive it is and I just can’t get over the smell. Unfortunately I will not be buying this oil any time soon.

nice but the price...
It is a nice face oil (although a bit on the heavy side so may be better for dry rather than oily skin). It did not irritate my skin. This is subjective, but I did not like the scent of this face oil and for me a face oil has to come with a scent that I really like as it makes such a difference. The key point to make will be the price as it is a perfectly nice face oil but there are similar products that are half the price, so there is no “extra mile” here to justify the increase in price

I’ve used many face oils and all of them were at very different price points and this one is just average - there was nothing special enough about this one to warrant the price point. It sinks into the skin well and wasn’t sticky, my skin was hydrated after using but I wouldn’t pay the price for this one.

Lovely
Lovely face oil feels very luxurous. It is Light and feels very nice to apply. I got this as a sample and whilst it was pleasant to use I'm not sure I would spend this much on a face oil but would rather splash out on the moisturiser instead but If money is no object then go for it!

Expensive
I chose this oil as a sample with my last order s I can only comment on 4 applications. Firstly this oil is luxurious, absorbs quickly leaving no residue and makes the skin feel hydrated and soft. I used it at night as my last layer over retinal. If its within your price range it’s worth a try.
