HYDRATION AND EXFOLIATION
The great thing about preparatory essences and lotions is that they usually add a little hydration meaning you need to use less of the most expensive product (the face cream or night cream) in order to get the comfort and hydration you are looking for. This essence by Augustinus Bader adds hydration along with a bit of gentle exfoliation. Press into the skin if you want to use as little product as possible or apply on cotton wool for a little more exfoliation.

Clarity
Now this is a power-house essence in a bottle! I have tried many different brands including Tatcha and Hourglass, but Augustinus Essence absolutely smashes them all. This is non sticky and a little goes a very long way. I apply 2-3 drops using my freshly washed hands and pat it into my skin and my neck. All other products just melt seamlessly and gives such natural radiation. Thank you!! Xxx

A NICE EXTRA STEP
I have been trying a lot of new Augustinus Bader products recently as I wanted to extend my routine to be more than just the face cream. I was not sure about this when I first tried it as it didn't appear to add that much to simply using the face cream. I have persevered and find that when I use the essence my skin feels more hydrated than without.

Not great
I love a serum and am happy to pay for quality. But this fell flat for me. I appreciated that it was non-sticky, no tacky residue, and absorbed quickly. But: I found it pilled when used with other skincare products (the only thing that changed in my routine was this serum). So sadly, although I love AB products, I won’t be repurchasing the serum.

Helps a lot
This helps a lot at the start of my skincare regime. Not only product very hydrating, but it helps to absorb other products such as serums into the skin. there is no real smell to this product which I appreciate and has a lightweight feel to it. as this product is very concentrated a little bit goes a long way to help hydrate your skin.
