New to the world of retinol and trying to find one that doesn't dry the skin. I have tried a few retinol samples from different brands and they all scared me with the intense drying effect. The only one that doesn't dry my skin is from omorovizca but it is soooo expensive. Wanting a cheaper alternative, after extensive reading I bought this. Whilst, yes oily on applicatinon and retains that, then apply moisturiser after 20 mins or so. The morning after application my skin was quite dry on waking up. I have been using it for 2 weeks and each time skin dry on waking, not as bad as other retinol samples I have tried. It is early days on efficacy, based on previous reviews I would expect it to work in long run! I will continue to use the bottle, but I am still on the hunt for a cheaper non-drying retinol-like product. Medik8 products really work for me but unfortunately not this one.

I keep returning to this product
I keep returning to this product. Used in conjunction with oral vitamin A supplements, it is clearing my skin of acne and also reducing the scarring. I am a fan of the whole Medik8 range and I have tried other products but always return to these ones.

I’ve been using this for 3/4 weeks now and it’s a very mild lovely oil that seems to have a gradual effect. I use it every two nights and plan to build up to a stronger cream 0.6% soon.

Excellent retinol
Medik8 3TR is a retinol serum in a squalane based oil formulation. It’s light textured, very liquid and hydrating on the skin. As it’s an oil it causes no dryness or irritation which is a common issue with some retinol products. This has patchouli which gives it some scent I never found it an issue and it caused no problems with my very sensitive skin. It’s a great option for a more gentle retinol or beginners to retinol, and especially if you have a drier skin type. I have since moved on the to Medik8 Crystal Retinal but would recommend this as a good place to start, with continued use it’s a very effective retinol.

Too much fragrance
This face oil smells like men’s perfume it’s extremely scented, and this put me off from using this oil also feels a bit oily doesn’t absorb that fast, I tried it on my neck for a month now and no irritation which is good but I still can’t stand the strong scent.
