About The Brand
Diptyque was founded in 1961 by theatre set designer Yves Coueslant, interior designer Christiane Gautrot, and painter Desmond Knox-Leet. The French house originated as a boutique at 34 Boulevard Saint-Germain, in the heart of Paris, selling unusual fabrics and trinkets. It was only as demand grew that the trio embarked on their foray into fragrance. The French house launched L’Eau, the first Diptyque perfume in 1968 and now has now-renowned Diptyque classics like the Baies candle and the Eau de Rose Eau de Toilette.
