One Palette: Three Ways

As Christmas party season approaches, we wanted to share our love (and gratitude) for a good, multi-tasking, makeup palette. Whether you’re racing between the office and a reunion with old friends or jetting off on a festive getaway, an all-in-one palette makes mastering a multitude of makeup looks effortless. In celebration of the oft-overlooked palette, we’re here to sing the praises of one of our favourite discoveries of the season, Kevyn Aucoin’s Jewelpop Face & Eye Palette. Here, we show you how to create three bespoke makeup looks from this one transformative palette…

Look 1: The Eye Amplifier

It’s not often you’ll find six flattering and wearable shades in a single palette. But, this beauty from Kevyn Aucoin offers just that. The buttery soft powders dust gently onto your lid for easy application and we love the array of textures, from light-reflecting pearl shades to semi-precious satins and deep highly-pigmented tones. The combination of textures makes jazzing up your eye in record time a breeze. For the office, we love using the understated combination of Moonstone and Topaz, then to take your eye look to the next level, simply layer over the deeper hues of Mahogany and dab on an inner corner highlight using Citrine. If you want to amplify your look, dampen the shadow brush so you can really pack on pigment for a high-intensity finish.

 Look 2:  The Cheekbone Sculptor

Who couldn’t do with a little more definition? While we aren’t suggesting you go full Kim K with an all-over full-face contour, a subtle sculpt can make cheekbones pop and create an envy-inducing jawline. If you haven’t tried it before the idea of contouring can seem a little intimidating but thankfully this multi-tonal Sculpting Powder keeps things simple. A trio of red, brown and grey pigments in one powder helps to flatter your natural tone and define your face shape without the fuss of using different shades. Taking a large fluffy brush, apply the powder to the underside of your cheekbones and along your jaw line and buff, buff, buff until the powder blends seamlessly and cheat your way to cheekbones in under 10 minutes.

Look 3: The Instant Illuminator

Our go-to makeup product to warm up a dull and lacklustre complexion? A glow-boosting highlighter that will add an illuminating sheen to skin and keep sallowness at bay. To add a hint of festive shimmer to your makeup, we love this dual-toned powder that combines a champagne coloured highlighter and pink-mauve blush. Either apply separately, by dusting the highlight over the high points of your face for a subtle soft-focus glow and the blush direct to cheeks, or swirl together for a flattering and warming sheen.
