Read her experience with @DrunkElephant's first foray into Retinol, A-Passioni, below 👇 . . “MY EXPERIENCE - I'm not going to go into the depths of 'how and why' science but I will say that retinol works from the deeper skin layers upwards (as opposed to AHAs which work from the top down) and it's probably the most effective anti aging solution out there. I started to include this in my evening skincare on 8th January so I think I'm in a pretty good position to share my initial thoughts on this product. Peak results usually occur after about 12 weeks so this is no quick fix! The first few weeks were rocky, I started to get quite a lot of spots on my cheek and jawline area (not typical for me, I rarely break out). These were mostly closed comedones and surfacing blackheads 😩 but I powered through, using the retinol once a week buffered with at least 1 essence and 1 serum underneath. Its quite a nourishing, moisturising formula and I didn't really experience any irritation. Maybe some tightness now and then but nothing drastic. After a month I was more confident using it and increased my usage to twice a week. I got some minor peeling, I described it on my stories as the dried PVA kinda peel rather than dry flakes. WHERE I'M AT NOW - I have noticed my skin is lot smoother, particularly on my cheeks and around my nose. My smile lines are drastically reduced and my complexion is a lot more radiant. I'm going to increase my usage to three times a week and see how I get on. I would say I have a good barrier and pretty resilient skin so I haven't really experienced any side effects and I'm happy about that!" . .
