Basically an expensive primerI have a few metallic eyeshadows from another brand and a Halogram colour from the same collection that I wanted to intensify with the cream base. I was going to try the Dark Matter but thought this may be more versatile. On it's own, it's quite thick and gives a good, even coverage at first but creases very quickly for me. It's a really neutral shade that seems to go with most of my makeup collection, but it really needs a powder on top to set it - and then you lose the tone. When I used it with the eye-shadows on top, it had more staying power, but didn't do much more than an cheaper eye primer which I already own. It's a great idea, but the execution doesn't quite work - especially for the price tag. May try Dark Matter at some point to see if I get a better result....

Nice but nothing specialThis is a pretty pale taupe shade when applied on its own, or intensifies the holographic eyeshadows from the same range when they’re applied on top. It’s nice enough but you can get the same effect from a MAC paint pot. The cream creases after a few hours too.

Thick and good coverage, but settling into linesOk, I was not interested in purchasing the topper shades that go with this base, but I was so willing to use it as a cream shadow with a matte topper. I tried it- and found it quite thick and not very slippery- and a bit drying to be honest. It might work wonderful for its intended purpose, but it did not work for the purpose I found for it :)

Summer BlissI bought this product on line and it really is difficult to see or experience a product through pictures. I was lucky, this is an expensive palette, but it is divine! Lovely subtle shimmers, no mattes but goes on like a dream and very easy to blend. This is one of my favourite palettes and I do hope they come out with a matte one at some stage.

Lovely shadows, terrible packagingThe texture of the shadows is very nice- smooth and buttery, blending very well. They all are slightly shimmery- even the lightest one. They are made for subtle, natural looks. However, please beware that they are stuck with an adhesive tape in the pan and I have dropped mine 2 times already because of the poor quality of the adhesive thingy. Cannot understand why they are not already magnetic, after so many years of people complaining about the poor packaging.
I love the product and what Surratt stands for, I am just so bummed about this.
