Minimises the appearance of pores

I am a big fan of Hourglasses’ Ambient Lighting powders so I was keen to try the Airbrush Pressed Powder and was not disappointed. I bought this product in the shade Translucent and when applied, my face was mattified without looking powdery. I found the powder helps to minimise the appearance of pores and blemishes. I generally use a powder brush to apply the product but find the applicator supplied great for setting concealer.

Great package, but not the perfect powder for me

I have had high expectation for this newly released pressed powder. The package is luxurious, as we get used to this brand. The powder is finally mild and looks very natural on the skin. However I do not see a filtering effect, which I was expecting. I will use it , but I am not sure I will buy again as I have other pressed powder from an other brand, which look more smooth and even and gives more filtering effect.

Wow

My favourite face makup products, from base to powder, are Hourglass. And this time there's no disappointment either. Amazing powder, light, blurring, beautofully melting into the skin. It could be a bit more mattifying, but at least it looks very natural. You can't overdue it, it won't look heavy and podery, even if you top up throughout the day. Amazing!

Hmm

Was really excited to see hourglass finally coming out with a matte powder especially as they don’t use talc in any of their powder formulas. I found when applying this with the puff as directed to take away excess shine my make up ended up looking patchy and broken up. This has to be the only powder product from hourglass I feel disappointed in. Hopefully they go back to the drawing board and being out a loose formula that’s matte and then this may work better to remove shine throughout the day

Not a patch on the ambient lighting formula.

I know it’s not technically a mattifying powder but the hourglass ambient lighting ethereal light powder is my go to. I thought I’d try this, but honestly it’s rubbish. Firstly there’s hardly any product, but the package is large and chunky (sadly just plastic and a fingerprint magnet like their other compacts), mainly due to the puff inside (does anyone actually apply their face powder with a tiny puff like this? I expect most people including myself use a big fluffy brush. Powder is more mattifying than some of the ambient lighting ones, but not completely. Still a very sheer coverage and can’t really be built up. It says translucent but I am very pale and it made me look yellow (lightest shade) It’s a good powder but not a game changer. Towards the end of the day I was getting very shiny, shinier than when I use my ethereal light powder. If you do like this different powder, I would suggest you use their loose formula- you get far more of it for your money in the tub, and you’re not stuck with a huge compact and cheap applicator. Not recommended. For £57 you are paying mostly for the name.
