Cause a Flutter

Mascara is a truly personal affair – one person loves a huge brush to invoke serious volume, while another prefers a tiny one to get precise definition. This season we recommend having a few mascaras for different looks, whether the pared-back fluttery lash or the all-out full lash for evening glamour. Here, Deborah gives her thoughts on nine surprisingly different products.

“This is a great mascara with a creamy consistency; I’m getting volume and length, and I really like it. It doesn’t clog but has quite an impactful look. I’m always time-poor and I just want to reach for something like this mascara that consistently delivers.”

“I like the luxurious packaging – if you were staying at the Ritz, this is what you’d want in your makeup bag. It has a generous brush and a drier consistency so it won’t smudge. It holds a curl, you can build volume with it and get every lash covered.”

“This mascara has a thick texture so one coat gives a full lash look, or you can build up the coverage to get more length. The brush is big too, with a curve that hugs the lashes and helps lift them. The formula is quite liquid, so coats the lashes easily.”

Precision Lash Extreme Mascara

“This packaging looks very different from the other mascaras with its architectural shape; it’s quite edgy. The formula is more matte and quite creamy too. The brush itself is long, but the stem is short – you get quite a lot of control; good for building up layers of mascara.”

“The consistency of this mascara is quite creamy and liquid, but it’s not smudging. I like the brush very much; it’s not too big, the spiral wand works well, and it’s coated my lashes easily. It’s more of an evening mascara, glamorous and lengthening – my lashes look defined. Nice glossy finish too.”

long lash mascara

“This has a little, thin brush so I can get close to my lash-line and pull up my lashes to get a lift. Plus, it’s small enough to be able to get into the inner corners with ease. It’s a nice everyday mascara with a lengthening formula.”

AUDACIOUS MASCARA

“This formula is very buildable and the wand really coats the lash, not just underneath. It’s teasing the lashes out in a really efficient way, and it isn’t clumping. Even my smallest lashes are getting coated. My lashes feel soft, silky and supple and have a lovely featheriness.”

EYEKO

SPORT MASCARA

“This has a really sporty feel to it. The shape of the brush means you can get under the lashes – it’s really picked them up and they look feathery. The look is natural and I like that; it has also defined all of my bottom lashes. Fantastic.”

“These look good and feel good in the hand; they’re so light and do not pinch at all thanks to the soft pad. I got a really strong curl from them, which helped to open up my eye. They’re fantastic, and I highly recommend them.”
