Not a water cream on my standards
I received a sample of the Charlotte Tilbury Water Cream and, curious, promptly lathered it onto my visage. This "water cream" did not resemble any other light and gel-like water cream that I've tested a handful of (e.g. from Tatcha and Peach and Lily). This one felt like an old-school stuffy lotion that left an icky film that did not seem to absorb properly onto the face for a long time. In the end, I ended up blotting my face before applying other products on top. The cream is said to be fragrance-free - and it is - but unfortunately it is not scent-free; I was underwhelmed by the regular sour-note of a basic moisturizer that I've encountered in many less pricey products. Unfortunately, to my chagrin this product did not change my experience of the brand, which is that CT skincare is simply too heavy for me (and her color cosmetics are all horribly warm-toned, clashing with my cool complexion). The only item that is an HG for me is the Airbrush Flawless setting spray. It's a shame, seeing that many of her products are of good quality.

Leaves the best glow
I bought this to try as I love the magic cream and I’m really glad I did. Much lighter and thinner than the original, but a little goes a really long way. This does occasionally pile a bit strangely with my makeup, but in no makeup days it’s my go to.

I bought the travel size to try first . It is creamy and smooth thinner than the original Charlotte tilbury magic cream. It leaves a nice finish and a bit of a glow but after a while the glow disappeared. It is a lovely cream but for me a prefere the original.

Pure magic!
I have oily skin so finding balance between a glow and a disaster can be a challenge. Not with this little pot of magic! And magic it truly is. From the first use my skin has a wonderful glow to it, and make up stays put all day, with no greasiness in sight, and my skin feels hydrated all day. I will definitely repurchase again.
