The best
Oh my gosh this is simply the best face powder i have ever come across - i pop a little on top of my skin when i get a little oily and it gives me such a professional finish without making my skin look oily - it is always in the bottom of my makeup bag and i think i have min versions in at least three of my going out bags as it is the perfect girls nights out accessory

Dim light
One of the few hourglass powders that doesn’t make my skin glittery just provides a really lovely glow. Perfect for finishing your makeup. Have used for years now and would never look to replace it. Converted so many people to this powder and yet to meet anyone who doesn’t love it!

Impressive
I adore these powders - I have a few colours and they are the perfect finishing touch to any makeup look. They make your skin look glowy and radiant without adding any sort of extra cakiness or anything like that. I’m so so impressed by these powders I would repurchase over and over - although they honestly last so so long , there is hardly a dent in my pan

Radiant, Diffused and Dim Light
I have been using the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders for as long as I can remember and there are three of the shades in particular that I use every single day and would hate to be without. I have a light skin with warm, golden undertones. I usually sit somewhere towards the lightest or second lightest shade in foundations, depending on the brand and extent of their shade choices. The three Ambient Lighting shades that I find work best for me are Diffused, Dim and Radiant light but they all serve very different purposes. I use all three as finishing rather than setting powders, either to add colour and radiance, to even the complexion or to blend and unify my finished make-up. Radiant Light is my daily bronzer. After setting my make-up with a light layer of Givenchy Prisme Libre (Voile Rosé) and/or Chantecaille's Talc-Free Loose Powder, I take a soft, candle- or paddle-shaped brush and lightly dust Radiant Light on the outer perimeter of the face, just into the hollows of the cheeks and across the outer edge of the forehed. It adds warmth, radiance and a realistic, healthy bronzed veil of colour without looking at all shimmery, glittery or glaring. It is subtle and natural and helps to liven up my complexion. Diffused light is a much lighter shade that I would describe it as a creamy white base with yellow undertones. I do not find that the yellow-tone translates on to the skin but I do have a golden undertone and tend to suit golden, yellow or peachy tones. Out of the three shades, Diffused Light has the least radiance and appears the most 'matte' on the skin without being at all flat. How I like to use this shade is as a final step to make sure all of my other products blend and unify. I apply it only to the very centre of the face, across the centre of the nose (where light would natural reflect) and to either side of the nose, high on the cheeks. I do not set under the eyes as I use a concealer that works best without setting (Sisley's Phyto Cernes Eclat - great product!) but potentially, Diffused Light could be a good under eye setting powder for those with lighter skins. I only use Diffused to add light and to help unify and blend my other products. Out of the three shades I have mentioned, this is probably the one I could manage without. That said, I do enjoy it and would recommend it. Dim light is a much harder shade to describe. I have heard it described as a warm-toned, light peach and there is certainly some truth in this but there is also a lot more to it than warm, light peach. It has beige, a touch of very light rosy bronze, reflects of silver and subtle pearl. It has luminosity and a subtle glow without being at all shimmery or sparkly. How I like to use this is to add a touch of colour, to warm up the outer cheek area over blush, bringing together my bronzer, blush and any other products I have used and making sure that nothing looks stark or unblended. It just helps to even everything whilst adding a touch of subtle warmth. I could not use this shade all over the face (Diffused, yes. Dim, no) as it would add too much colour but I can use it strategically and for this, it is beautiful. Overall, it takes some experimentation with the Ambient Lighting Powders to find exactly the right shade or shades that will enhance and suit your complexion. When you do find that shade or shades, they are magical and I have found no other product that performs as they do. I do not believe these are 'dupe-able' at all and believe me, I have tried a lot of products, either at lower or higher price points. These are the original and the best in my opinion. If you can experiment, you may just find exactly what you are looking for.

Diffused light
Diffused light has a yellow tone so it’s perfect for anyone with redness and rosacea. It just tones the pink down slightly but definitely doesn’t make you look yellow or ill. You can use it all over or just on pinker areas like eyelids, nose and cheeks. Also adds a radiant glow. I use it on top of my setting powder but I can use it straight over foundation and it still applies well.
