Long term favourite
This i one of my few staple products. I only use it on my lips, morning and night, as I think it is too sticky for cuticles. It s very rich and even when I apply in the early morning, my lips are still moisturised and shiny for hours. The smell is quite subtle and whilst expensive, I usually only get through two pots a year. The only (slight) negative to me is that the colour is very pale, so your lips do look slightly paler than normal at first.

Super Expensive But Worth It
For me this is a must have item, I am not rich but well long story how I happened across it ha. I use it on my sensitive skin and even use it on my nips (tmi-sorry). Nips and lips! Skin on my chin when it gets roughed up. A pot lasts me a year or more as I reserve it for extreme dry skin/irritation times.

Expensive but worth it!
Dior discontinued my favorite lip balm (balm de rose) last year and I've been looking for something similar. THIS IS IT! Love the texture and the way it makes my lips feel. I use it mostly at night but it's good for day time as well. And the smell is to die for! (if you like roses)

I know perfectly well that with high end/luxury products, the quality that you get is not necessarily superior to products with a less hefty price tag. Sometimes it’s that luxury ‘feel’ that makes you opt for a more expensive product, even if there are less expensive versions that perform just as well, and that ‘feel’ for me is a perfectly valid reason to choose the former over the latter. Having said that, I think that when you’re paying that much for a lip/cuticle cream, you have every right to expect the quality to at least match that of products ten times cheaper. With the Baume de Rose, chances are your expectations won’t be met. As a cuticle cream on me it’s unusable since it stays sticky and never absorbs. As a lip balm, it doesn’t do much apart from giving the lips a slight sheen. I don’t normally have chapped lips but this balm can’t even cope with slightly dehydrated lips after a short flight. Another issue for me is the smell — not so much the rose, as I don’t hate it although it’s not my favourite either, but my feeling that it ‘masks’ another smell that’s underneath it, a smell that registers with me as rancid sunflower oil (the item that I have isn’t expired and it hasn’t gone bad, it’s just what it smells like to me.) To sum up, not only is this not worth the money in my opinion, but even if it cost ten times less than it actually does, I’d still not choose to buy it.

Stinks and gross when accidentally got into your mouth
I had a few samples of this (the horror) and applied it before bed each night. The smell is heady and just "clings" there as you sleep. Second thing was that when some of it accidentally got into my mouth and I can actually "taste" the same cloying scent which made me sick and puke instantly. The hydrating effect was ok but I don't think it's worth going so much for the same effect when I can find a better smelling product.
