We Asked Two People To Review La Prairie's Bestselling Liquid Lift

We decided to ask our senior marketing manager Eleanor Middleton and her mum to try the jewel in La Prairie’s crown, the Skin Caviar Liquid Lift Serum for one month. Sarah’s La Prairie Skin Caviar Liquid Lift Review

While my skin sits somewhere between normal and dry, I would say it leans towards the dry side, so I always want to make sure my skincare routine is helping boost my glow and minimise the signs of ageing. Before I started using the La Prairie Liquid Lift serum, my skin was feeling quite dry and dull, due to the weather change.
When I first tried on the serum, the texture felt nice and light and I found the floral smell quite refreshing. The serum didn't absorbed immediately and did require some massaging into my skin. I started using the La Prairie Liquid Lift serum everyday, morning and night, slotting it in after my cleanser and before my moisturiser.
Although I didn’t notice a difference in my skin right after using the serum, after using it for 30 days my skin looked brighter and less patchy. I’m definitely going to keep using the serum everyday.
Eleanor’s La Prairie Skin Caviar Liquid Lift Review

While I’d describe my skin as normal, it is quite sensitive to seasonal changes. When I first started using La Prairie’s Skin Caviar Liquid Lift Serum the change in season and temperature was playing havoc on my skin, so it felt a bit all over the place – dry in some places and slightly congested.
The first time I applied the serum I found the slightly floral, powdery scent a little overpowering. I tend to opt for fragrance-free products because of my skin sensitivity so it's the first time in a while that I've used a fragranced skincare product.
I’m not sure if it was related to the scent, but sometimes I found that my skin would go quite red and flushed after using it. Other factors could have been at play, including the change in weather, and this might not have been related to the product.
Scent aside, there was a lot I liked about La Prairie’s Skin Caviar serum. The formula is very lightweight, and you don’t need a lot of the product for your whole face. It absorbs well and leaves a kind of tightened, lifted feeling. I used the formula at night and always followed up with a moisturiser. You can use the formula during the day, but I like a minimal skincare routine under my foundation and setting powder during the day.
Did I notice a difference? I do think my skin feels slightly tighter and more lifted, but it's subtle as you can see from my before and after photos. After a month of using it, I'm keen to finish the bottle to see if I notice more improvements in my skin but I will most likely revert back to my fragrance-free serum... until La Prairie brings out a fragrance-free Liquid Lift.
The Verdict On La Prairie Skin Caviar Liquid Lift
This serum has a loyal following amongst La Prairie fans and Sarah was impressed with the results: "Using this serum definitely made my skin brighter overtime, and I noticed some of my dark patches faded." Eleanor was slightly more reserved with her verdict. “While the lightweight texture was one of the most luxurious I've tried, I think someone with more mature skin might feel and see more of a benefit from using the lifting serum so I will be recommending it with that in mind,” she told us.
