Stop the press, Selena Gomez has launched a new brow gel, and the Rare Beauty Brow Harmony Flexible Lifting Gel is gaining traction. Late this summer, Selena teased the brow gel on her Instagram stories, and her followers immediately sprang into action to ask when Rare Beauty’s brow gel would be launching in the UK.

While the official Rare Beauty Brow Harmony Flexible Lifting Gel UK launch is set for spring 2024, you can sign up to our waitlist to be notified as soon as stock arrives.

In the meantime, UK-based Rare Beauty fans might be wondering how the new Brow Harmony Flexible Lifting Gel compares to the original Pencil & Gel. In short, Selena Gomez’s new brow product is a clear gel that promises to lift and hold your eyebrows in place. Think brushed up, fluffy brows rather than stiff, crispy ones.

Spring 2024 feels like a long way away and we were lucky enough to get our hands on a sample of the Rare Beauty brow gel and asked two Space NK team members to try it out. Our makeup category coordinator Victoria and SEO content coordinator Hanitra road tested the Brow Harmony Gel for a day and gave us the full low down below...

To celebrate the US launch of the Rare Beauty brow gel in September, Selena took to TikTok. “This has been such a staple in my routine since I tested it,” she told her TikTok followers. “It is what I use for the natural look, and it gives fluffy, lifted brow look. It holds all day without being flaky, crunchy or sticky. Plus, it’s clear so its super easy to apply and you can apply more and more throughout the day.”

Victoria’s Rare Beauty Brow Harmony Flexible Lifting Gel Review

My skin tone: light and neutral

My natural brow shade: medium to dark brown

The product: Rare Beauty Rare Beauty Harmony Flexible Lifting Gel, £ 17,00

My brows are quite thick and bushy, so I get them threaded every four weeks to give my eyebrows shape and get rid of the unruly strays. Clear brow gel is a daily essential for me and I use it every morning to make sure my brows stay in place all day. Hold and definition are the two requirements I have for any clear brow gel I use, so I was excited to see if Selena Gomez’s formula could deliver.

First impressions of the Rare Beauty Brow Harmony Flexible Lifting Gel were very positive. I really enjoyed the small applicator brush as it allowed for precise application and meant I could coat each brow hair thoroughly. I’ve found bigger brushes can be messy and don’t always offer the most natural finish. As someone with rather dense eyebrows – I wasn’t wearing any other brow products in my before and after photos above – I was especially impressed by how effortlessly the formula grabbed on to every single hair and lifted them up. I applied the Rare Beauty brow gel by combing upwards and then across.

At the end of the day my brows still looked groomed without looking or feeling crusty and stiff. I was really impressed with Rare Beauty’s brow gel and will be waiting impatiently for it to launch in the UK so I can add it into my makeup routine.

Hanitra’s Rare Beauty Brow Harmony Flexible Lifting Gel Review

My skin tone: medium

My natural brow shade: dark brown

The product: Rare Beauty Rare Beauty Harmony Flexible Lifting Gel, £ 17,00

For my daily look, I like to keep my brows pretty natural as they’re naturally quite thick and bushy, so I don’t usually fill them in. The only thing I use is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel, £ 13,00 to hold my brows in place. I recently saw Selena Gomez use the new Rare Beauty Harmony Brow Gel on her Instagram story and it looked like she had just gotten her brows laminated, so this brow gel was already on my wish list.

There’s nothing I’ve tried from Rare Beauty that I haven’t like, so needless to say I had high expectations, and the new brow gel didn’t disappoint. Like Victoria, I loved that the brush has tiny bristles to really grab every hair and lock my brows in. Another thing I liked was that I could use it on its own or pair it with a pencil or brow pomade as the gel is clear gel.

When I first tried the Rare Beauty Harmony Brow Gel, I could really feel the grip of the product onto my brows, which is something I haven’t had with other brow gels. From the photos above, you can see the difference on my right brow especially, which is the one that’s always a bit harder to tame. At the end of the day, my brows were still in place (which is not always the case) and the gel had not pilled. The finish makes this brow gel perfect for tapping into the no-makeup makeup look.

The Verdict: Is Rare Beauty’s Brow Gel Worth It?

Both Victoria and Hanitra gave Rare Beauty Rare Beauty Harmony Flexible Lifting Gel, £ 17,00 a five-star review. “I think I may have found my new go-to with this brow gel as it was so comfortable to wear and my brows stayed put all day,” Victoria added.

Is Selena Gomez’s brow gel the right one for you though? If you’re looking for a formula that will tame unruly hairs and keep your brows looking lifted and groomed – whether you like a bold brushed-up look or a more natural finish – this clear gel is a very good option. Neither Victoria nor Hanitra noted any crispiness or white flakes, even after hours of wear. If you’re main concern is filling in sparse brows, you will need to use a pencil or gel pen beforehand.
