We Put Rare Beauty Warm Wishes Effortless Bronzer To The Test

Rare Beauty Warm Wishes Effortless Bronzer Review | Space NK
Liquid and cream blushers were slowly becoming the texture of choice before Selena Gomez decided to get involved, but Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush has knocked the ball out of the park and is easily one of, if not the most talked about blushers right now. And, while it might not be as widely spoken about, Selena’s cream bronzer is proving just as popular with her fans.

The Rare Beauty Warm Wishes Effortless Bronzer has racked up 14.1 million views on Tiktok under the hashtag #rarebeautybronzerstick and it’s one of the brand’s top selling products. Happy Sol is the shade that has garnered the most amount of attention. The soft bronzed shade has cool undertones which gives skin a gorgeous sunkissed finish without veering anywhere near orangey-terracotta hues.

Alongside exploring the Rare Beauty bronzer shades, we decided to ask three people in the Space NK office to road test the Rare Beauty bronzing stick to see if it really does live up to the hype. Found your perfect shade already? You can skip straight to Hanitra's Rare Beauty Cream Bronzer review.

What Are The Shades Of Rare Beauty Warm Wishes Effortless Bronzer Stick?

Part of the hype around the Rare Beauty bronzing stick is due to the clever shade range. While there are only eight shades of Rare Beauty Warm Wishes Effortless Bronzer Stick, there is a hue to suit every skin tone – whether you want to use it as a bronzer or a contour stick.

Rare Beauty bronzing stick shades: Good Energy, Happy Sol, Bright Side, Power Boost, On the Horizon, True Warmth, Full of Life, Always Sunny

How do I know my bronzer shade? We've got you covered to make sure you choose the right bronzer for your skin tone and undertone. Rare Beauty bronzer stick in Happy Sol is the bestselling shade and for good reason, the soft bronzed hue works on almost any skin tone, it's also the shade that Selena Gomez uses.

If you’re pale, look to Power Boost (a soft, golden glow) and Bright Side (a cool-toned tan). Medium skin tones should explore Always Sunny (a warm bronzed hue) and Good Energy (a medium brown that suits all undertones. Full Of Life (a warm, deep bronze), On The Horizon (a cooler deep brown) and True Warmth (rich, red-ish bronze) are ideal for darker skin tones.

Hanitra’s Rare Beauty Cream Bronzer Review

My Skin Type: Oily and acne-prone

My Skin Tone: Medium

The Product: Rare Beauty Warm Wishes Effortless Bronzer Stick, £ 15,40 in Always Sunny

Lately, I have been staying away from foundation and keeping my base light with Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter, £ 39,00 and Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer, £ 27,00 to even out my skin tone and disguise blemishes. I’m a big fan of Rare Beauty, from the iconic Soft Pinch Liquid Blush to the Silk Touch Highlighter, which I shamelessly own three shades of. I think it’s the perfect brand for those who want their makeup to be easy to use, so I was excited to try out the bronzing stick.

My Initial Thoughts

The formula was extremely creamy and truly felt like it was melting onto my skin as I used it. The texture made it so incredibly easy to blend and didn’t leave any streaks. Although I’d seen people comment on the pigment on social media, I was still amazed by it. Just like other Rare Beauty products, a little goes a long way and you don’t need to apply a lot.

Always Sunny complimented my skin tone and added the perfect amount of warmth. I’d seen a lot of people use the Rare Beauty Bronzer Stick as a contour stick to achieve more definition; Always Sunny is quite a warm shade, so I would need a darker shade if I wanted to use it as contour rather than a bronzer.

How I Apply Rare Beauty’s Bronzing Stick

Before I signed myself up for this review, I watched a couple videos of Selena Gomez applying the Rare Beauty bronzer and copied what she did. I applied a few stripes along my cheekbones, my forehead and my jawline, and then blended out with my Beautyblender The Original Beauty Blender, £ 17,00. Some people also like to apply it on the eyelids to create an effortless eyeshadow look.

My Verdict On Rare Beauty Warm Wishes Effortless Bronzer Stick

As someone with oily skin, there’s always a risk that cream formulas might look too glowy and shiny, but the Rare Beauty bronzer has more of a matte finish. I lean towards a minimal makeup look and the Rare Beauty bronzer is perfect for that as blends so easily and effortlessly for a natural looking finish. I would recommend this bronzer to just about anyone, but I’d say it’s particularly good for anyone not used to wearing a cream bronzer.

My Skin Type: Sensitive with rosacea

My Skin Tone: Fair

The Product: Rare Beauty Warm Wishes Effortless Bronzer Stick, £ 15,40 in Happy Sol

Most of my makeup bag is made up of Rare Beauty products. I love the liquid blush (who doesn’t?) and the nourishing lip oils. I’m currently tapping into the no makeup makeup trend, so I was keen to see if Selena Gomez’s cream bronzer would work with this look.

My Initial Thoughts

The texture was so smooth and blended effortlessly into my skin without moving my base. Happy Sol is a nice warm shade, so I used it as a bronzer, rather than a contour stick, and paired it with Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi Drops. The bronzer was super pigmented, so I didn’t need much to achieve that sun kissed glow.

How I Applied Rare Beauty’s Bronzing Stick

I used a dense makeup brush to blend out the bronzer and as I mentioned, it didn’t smudge or lift my Drunk Elephant and concealer. You can see from the photo above where I applied the Rare Beauty cream bronzer before I blended it in.

My Verdict On Rare Beauty Warm Wishes Effortless Bronzer Stick

I would definitely recommend the Rare Beauty bronzer, it is going to be one of my makeup bag staples all year round, but particularly throughout the summer months. It lasts, so it’s great for the days where I work in the office and need my makeup to last longer.

Kirsten’s Rare Beauty Bronzing Stick Review

My Skin Type: Dry

My Skin Tone: Neutral

The Product: Rare Beauty Warm Wishes Effortless Bronzer Stick, £ 15,40 in Bright Side

I’m not going to lie, Rare Beauty is one of my favourite makeup brands right now. I’ve tried the foundation, lip oil, liquid blush and several other products and none of them have disappointed.

My Initial Thoughts

The Rare Beauty Warm Wishes Effortless Bronzer felt so creamy and soft on my skin. I loved how easy it was to apply. Some bronzing sticks can look a bit muddy and streaky when you apply them directly onto your skin, but this one didn’t. Like Hanitra and Sophie, I used Bright Side as a bronzer, but I can totally see how you could use this formula to contour with the right shade.

How I Applied Rare Beauty’s Bronzing Stick

I applied the cream bronzer directly and used the Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Blush Brush, £ 23,00 to blend it out. I had Chantecaille Future Skin Foundation, £ 80,00 on underneath, but I didn’t bother with a powder bronzer as the Rare Beauty bronzer is so pigmented, it’s enough on its own.

My Verdict On Rare Beauty Warm Wishes Effortless Bronzer Stick

I like a soft glam makeup look and loved that this product can be blended out for a natural finish or built up for something more intense. I will 100% be adding this to my makeup routine – it’s such a great product.
