balance restored
I found myself getting an itchy scalp due to product build up I think so purchased this Aveda scalp benefits shampoo (along with conditioner) and after using it for a few weeks now have found a real improvement. My scalp is much less itchy and hair feels clear and clean of any product build up after using. It has a subtle, slightly medicated scent but no perfume so hair just feels clean!

It is a no for me
I was recommended this at the aveda counter. I suffer from sebhouric dermatitis and was suggested I try this because it may help. I have curly but fine hair and a sensitive scalp. When I used this I felt like my hair was stripped of all moisture and it made my hair feel really dry and brittle after. I did not like how it made my hair feel. I wish I could return and for a full refund. I will not be using it again. I do not recommend for Afro hair for sure.

Utterly disappointed
Bought this to combat an itchy and dry scalp after using the Scalp benefits conditioner which is wonderfully soothing along with the Shampure shampoo. However, the Scalp benefits shampoo only made matters worse as it completely dries out my scalp and hair and leaves leaving an irritating itchy scalp and hair in desperate need of moisture. Don't understand the formula. Have been an avid Aveda fan for years but the last few products I've tried to combat my itchy dry scalp have been a total disaster.

scalp cleansing
Perfectly cleanses the scalp, soothes, eliminates itching. Hair is also well cleaned of any styling products. I use it once a week and it suits my thin and oily hair very well. Slightly specific smell, but it suits me. I plan to continue using it in the future.

not as expected
This is my first attempt on Aveda hair shampoo, it is a well known brand so I have bought a full sized one without trying. The plant essences in the shampoo provides a lovely smell of rosemary and refreshing. However, the outcome is not as expected. I'd say it indeed clean up my scale and hair but it made my hair very frizzy! If I only towel dry it without hair dryer, It looks horrible.
