Drunk Elephant was born out of founder Tiffany Masterson’s ongoing struggle with a range of skin complaints. After becoming disillusioned with the products at her disposal and the ingredients they were formulated with, she launched Drunk Elephant as a biocompatible skincare range in 2012, creating each product as a potent, easily absorbed elixir.
Each product in the Drunk Elephant range is formulated with a high percentage of active ingredients, all made at skin-friendly PH levels. Whether you’re looking to battle blemishes, reduce redness or revitalise the complexion, there are a variety of options for all concerns and any skin type.
They’re a cult favourite for a reason and are often touted as one of the best skincare brands out there, with quality and efficacy at the heart of each formulation. But it’s not just your skincare regime that can benefit from the range, as Drunk Elephant has forayed into body care and haircare too.

Marula Conditioner
I love the DE range and recently bought a few items from the hair care range. This I actually find too heavy for my hair (fine and coloured) which isn’t something I have experienced for some time. Soft when I get out of the shower but my hair is feeling greasy by lunchtime. This aside, I think the product is probably great for most people, it’s just not working for me

Lovely Conditioner
I use Drunk Elephant’s Cocomino shampoo and conditioner every day. They’re my favourites because they nourish my hair but never build up or feel heavy, don’t have a cloying synthetic fragrance (it’s a light, pleasant scent from the sweet almond oil), and my curl pattern does better without silicones. The conditioner is an excellent all-rounder.

Not for me
I find this conditioner to be a little more drying which is something I don’t expect from a conditioner. It applies well but when I’ve dried my hair after it just feels dry and this doesn’t add much moisture back into it. I wanted to love it but it just isn’t for me.

Doesn’t do anything any other conditioner can do!
I’ve used many conditioners over the years and don’t mind spending a bit more for the right product. However this was not good. The conditioner didn’t feel great going in. Seemed to sit on the hair. Left my hair feeling frizzy and unmanageable so I had to add my own conditioner to calm it down.

Good enough
Used a travel size in combination with the shampoo from the brand, but also with other combinations. I would say the texture is lovely, it is easy to manage (for me, this means I can apply it on my hair, leave it on for 3-5 minutes, feel a softening effect to the strands, and be able to easily wash it off) and I can see reliable results, just what I would expect from an everyday conditioner. I prefer my haircare to do much more, which is why it is not a favorite, but nice to have in rotation.
