My love of Sol de Janeiro’s Brazilian Bum Bum Cream predates the 2023 TikTok craze. The fruity scent reminds me of tropical holidays, so it’s a great product to have in your bathroom at all times of the year. On average, I would say I use a body lotion weekly.

The Delicia Drench scent has a similar tropical vibe to the original Cheirosa ’62 fragrance (the Brazilian Bum Bum Cream fragrance), but I’d say it’s slightly subtler and the vanilla note is more obvious. I found the texture quite thick and as I rubbed it into my skin it would lump up and was difficult to spread evenly. However, once it had absorbed my skin felt smooth and silky – a feeling that lasted all day long.

I have dry skin on my legs, but I did notice that after using Sol de Janeiro Delicia Drench Body Butter, they looked less ashy and felt more hydrated. While I will keep using it until I finish the tub, I think I’ll repurchase the Brazilian Bum Bum Cream over Delicia Drench.

As a fan of fragranced products (no thank you fragrance-free!), I’m no stranger to Sol de Janeiro’s body creams. However, anyone who hasn’t used a Sol de Janeiro product before should note that the fragrance is a key element to the formulas.

Consistency is not a strength of mine when it comes to moisturising – whether it’s my body or my face, I know, sacrilege. I find the sensation of something sticky sitting on my skin quite uncomfortable. If I’m honest, I only use body moisturiser if I’m going out or my legs are on show. I am a huge fan of fragrance though, so I was keen to try the new Delicia Drench Body Butter.

I was surprised at the texture as it’s a departure from Sol de Janeiro’s other body creams. Delicia Drench is kind of solid and you have to warm it up in your hands a bit before rubbing it in. Importantly, I didn’t find it sticky, it just felt moisturising. For me, the smell was a bit too much. I could smell it on my hands throughout the day, even after washing them. As the fragrance dried down, it gave me cocoa butter vibes was a little too sickly sweet.

While I wouldn’t use Sol de Janeiro Delicia Drench Body Butter every day, I would reach of it if I was going out as it did leave my skin feeling really soft.

Sol de Janeiro’s Cheirosa ’62 perfume mist is a daily beauty essential for me and I use body lotion once a day after showering, so I was very excited to get a previous of the Delicia Drench Body Butter. When I first opened the tub though I was shocked by the texture as it’s very unlike the existing Sol de Janeiro body lotions. It’s thicker with a whipped consistency.

I fell in love with the fragrance straight away. Rather than transporting me to a beach like the original Bum Bum Cream, the scent of Delicia Drench takes me to a place of comfort, aligning perfectly with the time of year when I’d opt for a thicker body cream. Since using the body butter, I’ve noticed my ‘strawberry skin’ on my legs has become less visible. The irritation I usually feel across my calves and shins after shaving has eased since using Delicia Drench too.

I will absolutely keep using Sol de Janeiro Delicia Drench Body Butter and would recommend it to anyone looking for 24-hour hydration, especially if they love the scent of vanilla.

For mood-boosting hydration… The OG Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream, $27.30 should be your first port of call. The formula includes caffeine to firm and tighten your skin, and texture is runnier that most body creams and absorbs quickly. As we’ve mentioned, the scent will take you back to your last holiday.

For tightening and firming… If you want more of a treatment, we recommend trying Sol de Janeiro Beija Flor Elasti-Cream, $27.30. With cacay oil, a gentle retinol alternative, and plant-based collagen and squalane, this body cream helps to plump and firm your skin over time. It also provides a strong dose of hydration. For exfoliating and smoothing… Sol de Janeiro Bom Dia Bright Cream, $27.30 is a multitasking body cream that gently exfoliates and hydrates to leave you with baby soft skin after just one use. While cupuacu butter hydrates, fruit derived AHAs slough away dry, dead skin. The Bom Dia Bright Cream has a more floral scent with jasmine notes and just a hint of vanilla.
