Drunk Elephant was born out of founder Tiffany Masterson’s ongoing struggle with a range of skin complaints. After becoming disillusioned with the products at her disposal and the ingredients they were formulated with, she launched Drunk Elephant as a biocompatible skincare range in 2012, creating each product as a potent, easily absorbed elixir.
Each product in the Drunk Elephant range is formulated with a high percentage of active ingredients, all made at skin-friendly PH levels. Whether you’re looking to battle blemishes, reduce redness or revitalise the complexion, there are a variety of options for all concerns and any skin type.
They’re a cult favourite for a reason and are often touted as one of the best skincare brands out there, with quality and efficacy at the heart of each formulation. But it’s not just your skincare regime that can benefit from the range, as Drunk Elephant has forayed into body care and haircare too.

Works but went rancid.
It works well on my skin, however, it went rancid really fast. I can't even use it anymore and it's about half full or more. I see your explanation to the reviewer below me, about not using masking or fragrance, which is great, one of the reasons I love drunk elephant! But this is different. Rancid oil has a distinct smell and I'm smelling that here. Too bad because my spots are lighter and my face looks smooth. I would like to try the regular retinol cream.

A little disappointed
I love DE. I usually use the virgin marula oil but fancied trying this as it sounded a step up. Totally underwhelmed especially for the price. Not noticed any difference and much prefer the texture of the virgin marula oil. So will use this up and switch back. It’s great to read that other reviewers are getting results - sadly not me.

Good for super dry skin
Myself, I was not a huge fan of this product and I love everything Drunk Elephant. It is very greasy on my face and I feel like it clogs my pores. Since I had high expectations, I purchased a large bottle. I dont want to waste it so I add alittle to my body lotion and it does seem to help with summertime dryness.

Good but not great
This is, in my opinion, an unconventional way to get your retinol. You are going to need to like face oils to like this. There are to many other ways to get retinol that are gentle so if oils are not your thing, this is going to be a big Nope. That being said, DE does recommend mixing so if you use Lala for example, you can mix but it still has that thicker oily feel. I’ve been using this for about one month. I’d say it’s on par with most basic retinols and not really special. It’s an interesting concept in an oil and not bad. Good for mixing and does do what a retinol is supposed to do but without irritation.

Good Face Oil
I have a combination skin but it is also become very sensitive from time to time. I really like that this oil powered by retinol. It helps clarify, smooth, and refine uneven tone of my skin while also reducing the appearance of blemishes, lines, hyperpigmentation and sun damage. It is really easy to smooth it over the face. it keeps the moisture and soothe away redness. I did not feel any dryness after using it as it can happen after retinol.
