About The Brand
Sol de Janeiro was founded in 2015 by Heela Yang, who was inspired by the Brazilian way of life and feeling of freedom she’d experienced there during her travels. When creating the brand, she wanted to bottle up the energy of Rio de Janeiro’s beaches with luscious bodycare, haircare and perfumes. Beauty isn’t a universal standard for Sol de Janeiro – it’s all about letting your inner confidence shine. The Brazil-inspired brand crafts products that will boost your mood, from the uplifting Sol de Janeiro perfumes to the bright-coloured packaging. What does Sol de Janeiro mean? It translates to “Sun of January” – the time of the year when the sun is at its highest point in Brazil. Sol de Janeiro wants to share this feeling of sun and warmth through its products. The brand also ensures that its products are as good for the skin as they feel with sustainably sourced ingredients. All Sol de Janeiro products are cruelty-free and don’t contain any sulphates, phthalates or parabens.
