About Diptyque
Diptyque's story began in the heart of 1960s Paris. Three multi-disciplinary artists – theatre set designer Yves Coueslant, interior designer Christiane Gautrot, and painter Desmond Knox-Lee - opened a boutique at 34 Boulevard Saint-Germain, initially selling unusual fabrics and trinkets. In 1963, the trio forayed into fragrance, and Diptyque launched its first scented candle, followed by personal perfumes in 1968. Today, the brand is globally renowned as a symbol of Parisian elegance, with luxury candles, perfumes, diffusers and bodycare.
