I use SPF every single day without fail. Retinol is a regular part of my routine, so daily SPF is essential to protect my skin. I know it’s also important to wear it every day for anti-ageing benefits. I typically reach for a non-tinted cream and use it under my foundation or tinted moisturiser, so I was intrigued to try a formula that does both.

Having dry skin, I really enjoyed how hydrating the formula felt, as well as how quickly it absorbed without leaving any residue behind. The shade match was also perfect. In terms of application, I found using my foundation brush gave me light, buildable coverage, which is what I like. Cream-based SPFs are my go-to and I've been looking out for new options that don’t leave me with a white cast as we head towards summer. Kay Beauty’s tinted SPF looks and feels like a tinted moisturiser, which is really refreshing as I hate the heaviness and smell of some sunscreens out there. It has a rich and creamy texture that absorbs well, so you can apply with your fingers.

Having worn this for over a week now, I’m more than happy to use this as my base. In fact, even if I was opting for more coverage, I’d prefer to use this rather than an non-tinted SPF under my makeup so I can be certain that it won’t leave a white cast.

Kay Beauty’s formula left my skin looking even, blurred and dewy. Plus, having a hydrating SPF reduces the numbers of products I’m applying, so I don’t need to worry about pilling. It interacted well with the rest of my makeup and skincare too.

The pros: Both of our reviewers felt that they had enough coverage to wear this alone and loved the time that this saved them in their morning routines.

The cons: As the coverage is light, you may not get quite as much as your usual foundation. We would say this is most similar to a tinted moisturiser.
