Jolie Skin Co was founded by Ryan Babenzien and Arjan Singh in the US in 2021. One winter, Babenzien found himself needing more moisturiser than normal and began to wonder whether the water he was showering in could be part of the problem. He dove into research and discovered that most water contains chlorine and heavy metals, which can take a toll on your skin, hair and overall well-being over time. Hard water means that your water contains high levels of dissolved minerals, including calcium and magnesium ions, bicarbonates and sulphates. It occurs when water filters through mineral-rich materials such as limestone, chalk or gypsum.

You can check your water hardness by postcode using Jolie Skin Co’s Water Report. It will tell you how hard the water is near you and whether you could benefit from installing a water filter.

Step 1: Remove your existing showerhead by turning it counterclockwise until it comes off. If you need extra grip, use the included wrench.

Step 2: Wrap the included plumber’s tape around the exposed pipe threads twice, then tear off the tape. This helps create a watertight seal and prevents leaks.

Step 3: Attach your Jolie shower filter by screwing it onto the pipe clockwise until secure. Use the included wrench to tighten if needed.

Step 1: Unscrew the front of your showerhead by turning it counterclockwise. For extra grip, use the included wrench.

Step 2: Remove the old filter. It may appear discoloured or dirty.

Step 3: Insert the new filter into the front section of the showerhead.

Step 4: Reattach the front of the showerhead by screwing it back on clockwise until secure.
