We Put Westman Atelier's First Ever Liquid Foundation To The Test
Having imparted her signature ‘no-makeup makeup’ look to icons like Gwyneth Paltrow, Taylor Swift and Anne Hathaway, it’s fair to say that Gucci knows a thing or two about what makes a great beauty product. “My signature has never been about creating a different face, it's about bringing skin to life, so it looks healthy and radiant.”
“When I created Westman Atelier, I was uncompromising about the formulas. They had to deliver the exceptional performance a makeup artist expects while also incorporating ingredients that genuinely improve the skin.” Creating a soft-focus finish while helping to oil control thanks to amino acid powders, this skin loving formula’s hydrating blend of peptides and antioxidants could rival that of a moisturiser. Particularly, as these active ingredients are designed to penetrate effectively via plant exosomes.
So, was this foundation worth the wait? We’ve asked three lucky ladies from our head office to put it to the test and let us know.

Jini's Supreme Bio-Complex Liquid Foundation review

Application: I applied quite a lot of product and at first I was nervous that it would look ‘too much’, but after a couple of minutes of blending and dry down the coverage looked even and flawless. I find that sometimes there are patches that makeup doesn’t grip to but this wasn’t the case.
Formula: It's quite a thick and creamy foundation, but despite applying tonnes it honestly did feel weightless. While feeling very hydrating, it stretched over my skin easily without amplifying dehydration lines or enlarged pores, as other fuller coverage formulas can do and created an ultra-smooth base.
Finish: I personally don't think this sits within the matte finish category, the finish appears luminous with a lovely glow, but it doesn't feel dewy to touch. Unless you have oily skin, you probably don’t need to set with powder. Despite building up well to quite a full coverage look, it doesn’t look too fake or cakey.
Who it's best for: I'd say this foundation was born for a night out, it builds up way better than others that I've tried and I barely used any concealer under my eyes. It gave me full coverage without looking flat and I still maintained a very healthy glow.
Celia's Supreme Bio-Complex Liquid Foundation review

Application: I felt very lucky as I was the one who got to try the Foundation Brush with my foundation! Brushes are always an investment, but the softness of the Japanese hairs on this were on another level... I like to dot my foundation all over my face and gently buff. This brush really helps the foundation maintain its coverage without diffusing it too much. I’d highly recommend adding this to your basket!
Formula: The foundation blends seamlessly very quickly and it's got a nice consistency. It's definitely a 'demi-matte' foundation, offering great coverage that dries down slightly without being fully matte and drying.
Finish: Personally, I wouldn't even feel the need to set this, as it slightly sets itself. I like this as your makeup looks more polished and ‘done’ more quickly. I've got combination/oily skin and it sits really well.
Who it's best for: The medium coverage formula is nice because it gives you flexibility, you can build it up but you can reach for it as your everyday base. This will be my go-to when I next have a night out or lovely dinner reservation. Most foundations tend to look orange on me, but i'm impressed with my shade match and the undertones on offer!
Alya's Supreme Bio-Complex Liquid Foundation review

Application:At first swipe, I knew this shade was an excellent match, it doesn’t oxidise whatsoever! While I'm sure a brush would be great, I like to use my fingers for the most natural looking finish!
Formula: The creaminess feels lovely as you blend and it’s lightweight but provides decent coverage. Although this is supposed to be quite matte, it looks quite luminous and healthy. Typically, people expect matte foundations to look flat and dull, but this isn’t the case at all. I’d describe it as a satin finish which does a really good job of blurring your pores.
Finish: I finished off my look with the Sun Tone Bronzing Crème, which is such an effortless product. It's somewhere in between a cream and a powder and it's impossible to look cakey or streaky with.
Who it's best for: This foundation would be great for oily and combination skin, but it could be a bit drying for someone with dry skin.
Our Verdict On Supreme Bio-Complex Liquid Foundation
Many foundations are described as a natural, skin-like finish, but this really does deliver and surpass expectations.
PROS: The formula is truly buildable. A small amount of product will even out your skin tone adequately with a fresh finish, but if you choose to apply generously then the result looks airbrushed and very smooth. All of our reviewers were impressed by the shade range and the brush was also worthwhile!
CONS: All of reviewers reported a healthy glow, so somebody with very oily skin who prefers a drier matte finish may find it too nourishing!
