Effective, soothing, luxurious and 100% worth it!

I have been using Susanne Kaufmann's Cleansing Gel for many years and in my opinion, it is a stand out product that I would never want to be without. Every so often, I buy a different cleanser just to give my skin a change and see what is new or undiscovered out there and each time, I find myself longing to get back to this one. I have never found another cleanser that comes close to this one for effectiveness and enjoyment in use. What do I like so much about the Purifying Cleansing Gel? I have sensitive skin that can get irritated and sore if I am not careful about the products I use. Ingredients I am particuarly wary of are parfum, -iosthiazolinones and essential oils, the latter of which proves that 'natural' does not always mean sensitive skin-friendly. When I first saw that this cleanser contains 'botanicals' (note: it does not contain essential oils!) and does have parfum listed as the last ingredient (lowest concentration) I wasn't expecting my skin to react well to it. However, it is the most soothing, balancing, calming cleanser I have ever used and I would urge anyone with sensitive skin to at least give it a try. This cleanser does have a scent when you apply it but I believe that the majority of this must come from the botanical ingredients. It is a very soft, herbal scent, not at all over-powering and most importantly, I do not find that it irritates my skin at all. It makes using the cleanser a much more luxurious, pleasurable experience and as someone who does not like strong fragrance at all, I actually enjoy it and it makes my skincare rotuine much more of a 'luxurious' experience than it would be otherwise. I wear make up on a daily basis, including eyeliner and mascara. I do remove the majoirty of my products with a balm cleansing concentrate beforehand but I find that this cleanser is incredibly effective either as a second cleanse or as a refreshing morning cleanse. It leaves my skin feeling refreshed, balanced and very effectively cleansed without being remotely stripping. I do believe it would be a great stand alone cleanser for light make up but I cannot attest to this myself as this is not how I have been using it. I would wholeheartedly recommend this cleanser to all skin types. It is gentle and non-stripping, calming and soothing. At the same time, it cleans incredibly well. It is a pleasure to use and I do believe it is absolutely worth the cost. One 100ml bottle lasts me for at least 4 months, probably more using twice daily as I need the smallest amount for a very effective cleanse. Insanely good

I must admit, I was skeptical when I first tried the Susanne Kaufmann Purifying Cleansing Gel. But oh my goodness, it blew me away! This product is an absolute game-changer. Not only does it effectively remove all impurities and makeup from my skin, but it also leaves it feeling refreshed and revitalized. The natural ingredients used in this cleansing gel truly make a difference. I've noticed a significant improvement in the overall clarity and texture of my skin since incorporating this gem into my skincare routine. Trust me, once you try the Susanne Kaufmann Purifying Cleansing Gel, you'll never look back!

Disappointing

Upon first wash I moved this. My face felt fresh and clean. However unfortunately the drier parts of my combination skin then started to feel dry and tight and this has got worse. Now my face feels drier than ever before and that I’m getting flaky patches. Disappointed and won’t be buying again. My skin is combination and dehydrated and I’m in my early 40s in case that helps.

Not so good anymore!

I have reviewed this product before and gave it the highest recommendation. Unfortunately, since then Susanne Kaufmann has changed its formulation and frankly the loss in quality is all too plain. Texture is more watery, the smell is off, and the cleansing action is average at best. I even got two bottles and both were like this. I no longer can recommend this product. What is worse most Susanne Kaufmann products do not keep well. They start deteriorating and within 6 months or so, they start smelling different and not performing well. For excellent gel cleansers, you need not look far. Both La Mer and Revive make excellent ones. Susanne Kaufmann is no longer viable for me.

Love this

I think I like this product so much because of the scent, it's so refreshing in the morning and makes cleansing my face an absolute joy. Definitely does the job and doesn't leave skin dry, I'm just still a bit on the fence in regards to how well it cleanses, I haven't noticed a difference in pore clarity and it occasionally feels like a residue is left on the face (which then slightly foams if using a serum).
