Rare Beauty Foundation Summary
Promising a medium, buildable coverage with a serum-like texture and skin-like finish, Rare Beauty Liquid Touch Weightless Foundation, $34.00 ticked all my boxes when it comes to what I look for in a foundation. As you would expect from Selena, the range is inclusive with 48 shades evenly divided across all skin tones and separated into cool, neutral, and warm categories.
Everything You Need To Know About Rare Beauty Liquid Touch Weightless Foundation
With a range as broad as this it can feel daunting finding your shade, but thankfully Space NK have teamed up with Findation to help you pinpoint your perfect foundation match. All you have to do is enter the details of your current foundation and ‘Find Your Shade’ will do the rest. I found my shade (180W) through this service and can attest it was indeed a match.
The foundation comes with a large doe-foot applicator so you can easily dot it on your face and blend without having to pump it on the back of your hand. It also means you can do a sort of dot and blend technique if you’d rather just apply it to specific areas.
Now trust me when I say that a little goes a long way with this foundation. I definitely went in too heavy handed and what I assumed would cover half my face actually did my entire face and then some. It was super easy to blend with the Rare Beauty Liquid Touch Foundation Brush, $32.50 and I wore Rare Beauty Always An Optimist Illuminating Primer, $17.00 underneath for added glow.
Where the foundation struggled for me however was my forehead. I’m 35 years old and prone to the signs of dehydrating showing their tell-tale signs specifically above my eyebrows. My fine lines and dryness are not the fault of Selena, but unfortunately, I found that her foundation did emphasise that unwanted texture, particularly as the day went on. Forehead aside, Liquid Touch definitely lives up to its weightless claims and covered my unwanted redness without looking heavy.
The Takeaway Point From My Rare Beauty Foundation Review
While I can appreciate Liquid Touch, it’s sadly not the foundation for me. I have friends who I know would love it, but I just think my moisture levels are a little too low to fully reap the benefits. If you have oily/combination skin however and want a foundation that covers without that heavy feeling I have no doubt you will love this. I certainly wish I had this growing up! For future use I would definitely prep my skin with a richer moisturiser in the areas I needed and apply more sparingly.
