How Does Tatcha Violet-C Radiance Mask Compare To Other Vitamin C Products?

Review of Tatcha Violet C Radiance Mask | Space NK
As the most searched for ingredient at Space NK, it’s fair to say vitamin C skincare is having a moment. For many, it really is one of those miracle workers that do so, so much for skin. From boosting collagen to preventing sun damage and healing blemishes, it’s no surprise the benefits of vitamin c in skincare have revolutionised the beauty world. However, considering how versatile it is, it’s also a highly divisive ingredient, with many finding it too aggressive, especially for sensitive skin. And whilst there’s no denying it’s a potent ingredient, vitamin C is now available in so many shapes and sizes - making it easy to slip into almost everyone’s beauty routine.

Queue Tatcha – that’s right, the J-beauty inspired brand known for its beautifully gentle and kind-to-skin formulas has its very own take on vitamin C, the Tatcha Violet-C Radiance Mask - a vitamin C face mask designed to improve skin texture, brighten skin tone and unveil that signature Tatcha glow. So, as a diehard Tatcha fan who is still a little on the fence about the powerhouse ingredient (what can I say, sometimes I’m hard to convince), I was naturally keen to try this Tatcha vitamin C treatment.

THE TOP LINE ON TATCHA VIOLET C-RADIANCE MASK

Percentage and blending are key when it comes to an active ingredient like vitamin C – and with a total of 20%, this Tatcha mask doesn’t hold back. There are actually two types of vitamin C within this mask – one for short-term effects, and one for the long run. But, in true Tatcha style, there’s a beautifully botanical blend alongside this vitamin C dose – Japanese beautyberry, a medley of fruit AHAs and the brand’s signature Hadasei-3™ complex. All of which are intended to smooth, brighten and prevent the early signs of ageing.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT TATCHA VIOLET C-RADIANCE MASK

After spending a good few seconds being in awe of the striking colour, I spread this super smooth texture across my face (except the eye area) with the little spatula provided. As expected, it felt relaxing and soothing on my skin – no harshness detected here. I left it on for 20 minutes and washed it off with warm water. And whilst I don’t think my skin was particularly glowing, what really stood out to me was how smooth it felt. I used this face mask in the evening and luckily, my skin stayed baby smooth until the following morning. I’ve been using it regularly for the past few weeks, and it continues to deliver that unmatchable complexion softness. And like every Tatcha product I’ve ever tried, it’s such a silky texture and its effect is so relaxing that it’s simply a joy to use.

THE VERDICT ON TATCHA VIOLET C-RADIANCE MASK

From vitamin C serums to moisturisers, toners and even eye creams, there are so many varieties of vitamin C available that the choice can be overwhelming – especially for those with sensitive skin. This vitamin C mask, however, may just be the answer sensitive skin types are looking for. Although it’s very concentrated, it’s a gentle, wash-off formula that feels incredibly comforting on skin. Tatcha recommends to use this mask 2-3 times a week – which is a great way to incorporate vitamin C into your beauty routine and build tolerance over time. As some of my main skin concerns are texture and clogged pores, I usually opt for an exfoliating effect from my face masks, but I will definitely switch things up with this mask – especially before a special event, when I want my skin to look its best.
