Can a facial really give you the same rush of endorphins as a HIIT workout? According to some people who have tried a FaceGym Signature Workout, yes. Set up in 2014 by Inge Theron, a former beauty and wellness columnist, FaceGym offers an intense facial exercise treatment that promises to release tension and leave you with a lifted, healthy-looking glow.

Just how intense is the facial? Are the results really as good as they sound? We sent our Digital Content Assistant to try out the FaceGym Signature Workout at Space NK Covent Garden and report back.

Olivia’s FaceGym Signature Workout Review

Treatment I reviewed: FaceGym Signature Sculpt Workout + Draining Cupping

The weighted ball during my FaceGym facial

Before the treatment my skin was in relatively good condition overall, but it did look a little dehydrated and puffy in places. The treatment started, like most facials do, with a cleanse before Tiffany started the warm up massage around my face, neck and shoulders.

She then went in with the FACEGYM Weighted Face Ball, £ 35,00 to lift and stretch my face, which was followed by a massage where she used her hands, knuckles, fingers and palms over the different areas of my face.

After this, the FACEGYM Multisculpt, £ 53,00 was brought in to sculpt the contours of my face and help lymphatic drainage – again this was all over my face, but she really focused on my masseter muscle and jaw where I apparently had lots of tension and big knots.

The treatment finished with EMS (Electric muscle stimulation). Tiffany put a gel on my face before using the FACEGYM FaceGym Pro, £ 633,00, which was a really weird sensation and made the muscles in my face twitch. This is intended to create blood flow and cause the muscles in my face to contract – to tighten sin and tone the muscles – leaving a more sculpted finish.

What Does A FaceGym Facial Feel Like?

It definitely felt like a workout! The first half with the ball and hand massage was quite relaxing. Even though it was quite rigorous, I enjoyed the feeling of the tension loosening up. It was a bit like a deep tissue massage for my face. I found the EMS part quite uncomfortable as it caused twitches and sensations that I hadn’t felt before. I would stress that it was weird rather than painful and I think it was worth it.

Are The Results Instant?

I looked immediately more sculpted. After using the FaceGym Pro (EMS) on half my face, Tiffany showed me how much more sculpted and lifted I looked compare to the side that hadn’t been done. Around my nose, undereye and jaw where I usually feel puffy, I felt really snatched, defined and sculpted!

My Verdict On FaceGym’s Facial Workout

I only had the FaceGym facial three days ago, but I feel like I can still see the results, which is ideal as I’m going on holiday this weekend. Also, I left and my face was more glowy and radiant than when I went in, which is obviously a major win! I would definitely rebook, particularly if I had a wedding or event in the diary as I felt super snatched and glowy.
