Free-from Skincare

free-from skincare

Shopping for beauty should be as bespoke as possible – and thanks to a bevy of ‘free-from’ brands that choose not to formulate with ingredients such as parabens and SLS, it’s easier than ever to find skin solutions that tick every box you have.

Caudalie

Hailing from lushest Bordeaux, Caudalie’s history is steeped in nature. Co-founder Mathilde Thomas was inspired to create a potent, clean skincare line that drew on the power of possibly the area’s best-known export: the humble grape. What’s more, the whole range is paraben, mineral oil and SLS free.

Must try: Caudalie Beauty Elixir: Packed with potent antioxidants, this refreshing mist sets makeup and refreshes tired skin with an antibacterial blend of rosemary and grape. Vinoperfect Serum: This award-winning serum makes light work of dark spots and uneven skin tone. Apply morning and evening to boost your skin’s radiance, thanks to Caudalie’s patented Viniferine complex.

Oskia

London-born, Wales-bred brand OSKIA truly is the best of British. The range is crammed full of peptides, prebiotics and enzymes, but is still free from parabens, silicones and sulphates: ”I believe that there is no room in skincare for foreign or skin-unfriendly ingredients, be they natural or synthetic. Some essential oils can be even harmful, which is why we hand-pick every ingredient just so,” says Founder Georgie Cleeve.

Must try: Renaissance Mask: An influencer favourite, this megawatt brightening mask is ideal for tired, city-worn skin and uses fruit enzymes to exfoliate and chamomile to soothe. Super 16 Oil: This multi-talented oil is quite the anti-ageing powerhouse. It uses sixteen nutrients (hence the name)  to firm, plump and hydrate the skin and restore suppleness.

Odacité

Odacité truly has the best of both worlds; the luxury of French skincare, and clean-living California sensibilities. Free from nanoparticles, dyes, PEG, fragrance and petrochemicals, the range uses certified organic ingredients alongside genius botanical blends.

Must try: Bl+C Pimples Serum Concentrate: Using black cumin oil and cajeput (which is like a turbo-charged tea tree oil) you can apply this both preventatively to maintain clear skin or to tackle bothersome breakouts. Aventurine Kiss Lip Serum: If you dream of a fuller, smoother pout without the injectables, look no further. CoEnzyme Q10 and mint naturally stimulate and smooth the lips for a plumped-up, kissable finish.

Tata Harper

Tata Harper’s tagline is ‘made for uncompromising women’, and Tata herself is a pioneer in natural luxury skincare. Life split between Colombia and Vermont educated Tata about the importance of slow living and organic ingredients for a healthy life. The range is free from synthetic chemicals, GMOs and artificial colours.

Must try: Replenishing Nutrient Complex: Fortified with Vitamins A, B, C, D and E, this repairing oil works to tone up the complexion and restore it with essential skin-feeding ingredients. Clarifying Mask: This AHA superfruit mask is the ideal Sunday pamper treat. Willowbark and meadowsweet slough away blemishes while cocooning delicate skin for a revitalised complexion.
