Shade reviewed: Fenty Beauty Shake ‘n Play Buildable Liquid Blush, N/A in Fiya Papaya

After taking part in the Gloss Bomb review, I’ve fallen in love with Fenty Beauty. Fiya Papaya is a unique coral shade and is like nothing else in my large blush collection. It’s really bright and cute, but the formula is buildable, meaning I can switch up the amount I apply depending on the look I'm going for.
I thought that the Gloss Bomb’s applicator shape was perfect, and similarly, the stamp function of the blush made it really easy to use, dispensing the exact same amount of pigment each time. The formula has a really unique consistency that is creamy and feels a lot lighter than other liquid blushes I have tried. I used my fingers to blend which worked for a quick flush on bare skin, but I would recommend using a brush to blend when applying on top of makeup to ensure a very seamless finish.
I really loved this shade on my complexion, but you can tell that the hues have been so well thought out to suit all types of makeup looks and skin tones. I also think the Shake 'n Play element is nice and fun as well! I will 100% be integrating this blush into my rotation. Particularly, as we approach summer for a pop of colour alongside a more natural look for the beach!

Shade reviewed: Fenty Beauty Shake ‘n Play Buildable Liquid Blush, N/A in Quit Wineing

I’ve tried a few Fenty Beauty products, like the Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Blush and Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter, and I’ve usually been really happy with the colour payoff and durability – so I was very excited to try this new launch. I love a blush that packs a punch and figured there was no way this formula wouldn't deliver on the colour front.
Firstly, all the shades looked beautiful! I settled for ‘Quit Wineing’, a gorgeous, rosy-burgundy shade that’s very much in line with what I have in my blush (and lip!) collection. I shook the bottle as instructed and put one dot of it on the back of my hand rather than straight on my cheeks. I blended it out with my fingers and I instantly was in awe of how pigmented this formula is. I found it easy to apply with my fingers, but for the most part I prefer to use a brush.
Upon first impressions, I loved how it looked – even though a matte finish isn’t something I always go for in blushes, I think it’s a good option for my oily skin. Plus, my skin texture didn’t look emphasized which is a huge bonus.
Unfortunately, I just didn’t find it lasted that long on my skin – by the end of my working day I felt like most of it was gone. This isn't unusual for me, given that I have oily skin – and I do remember I was touching my face a lot that day! So, I will be using it again as I love the colour and I normally layer powder blusher over my liquid formulas anyway.
If you love blushes with a matte finish and a good pop of colour, you’ll definitely love this blush. A little bit goes a long way – on the times I’ve tried it I’ve literally needed just one dollop of it. Another feature I love is the design of the doe foot applicator – it makes it very easy to apply straight onto your cheeks if you’re not afraid of colour!

Shade reviewed: Fenty Beauty Shake ‘n Play Buildable Liquid Blush, N/A in Bow 'Peep and Wild 'Berry Whip

I’m starting to experiment with blush more, and I'm loving brighter colours that I used to shy away from. Recently, I've been layering different tones of cream and powder for a more interesting look. I also love a liquid formula with lots of movement, as I feel it’s less likely to interfere with my foundation beneath.
The applicator was cool and extremely effective! It sounded like a mini spray paint can, and the colour pay-off from one little dab is so good and it now sits as one of the most intensely concentrated blushes in my collection.
I applied 3 dots in total, two of ‘Bow ‘Peep’, a slightly coral-toned light pink, and one of ‘Wild ‘Berry Whip’, a deep berry shade. Blending in over my foundation with a fluffy brush was quick and easy, and I had enough time to work with the product.
Usually, I keep adding more to build up to my desired look, but Fenty has mastered a fun way to provide the perfect pop of colour! It was completely foolproof. Bow Peep alone is very pretty, but I love the depth that wild berry added to my blush. As I tan, Wild’ Berry Whip will suit me more, and I’ll wear it alone.
I love how I’ll never have to think about how much I'm applying. It lasted well, even surviving a workout at the gym, so I will be using this product again. Fenty for the win!
Our Verdict On Hourglass' Skin Illusion Luminous Foundation
The pigment of this new blush really packs a punch, but blending remains effortless thanks to Fenty’s shake-and-stamp format, making it buildable and suitable for all occasions.
THE PROS: The stamp delivers the right amount of this pigmented liquid blush every time, which is easy to blend with a brush or fingers. Plus, there's a stunning range of shades to suit all skin types and makeup looks.
THE CONS: This blush has a stunning matte finish, so if you’re looking for some glow on the cheeks you can add a gorgeous Fenty Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter on top.
