Five Reasons You Will Love Tan-Luxe Super Glow SPF

With the original Super Glow Hyaluronic Self-Tan Serum being such a hit (it’s our number one selling self-tanning product and skincare guru Caroline Hirons hand-picked it as part of her Space NK box earlier this year), it’s hard to believe that Tan-Luxe could improve on the formula. But it's possible. If the idea of your daily SPF doubling up as a gradual self-tan boggles your brain, you’ll be pleased to know that I road tested the Super Glow Hyaluronic Self-Tan Serum SPF 30 ahead of the launch. Here are five reasons why I think you need to try it too…

It Protects...

Undeniably the best benefit of this formula is that it contains SPF 30 and protects your skin from both UVA and UVB rays. Having noted the importance of SPF as part of everyone’s skincare regimen, Tan–Luxe’s founder Marc Elrick spent years developing this innovative new anti-ageing serum. “You’re getting your daily sun protection with the added bonus of a flawless gradual glow,” said Marc. What’s more, it’s also packed with antioxidants to give further protection from other daily aggressors, including blue light pollution.

It Boosts Your Glow...

Another equally great benefit is the glow it gives your skin. “It’s a gradual product so the more you use and the frequency you use it will depend on the colour you achieve,” advises Marc.

I used five drops for the first two days and achieved that just-back-from-holiday glow. I didn’t use it for two days and have applied it every other day since. My ‘post-holiday tan’ still looks radiant and hasn’t gone patchy. If you like a more intense colour, you can use everyday as it’s been formulated with just the right percentage of tanning actives.

It Hydrates...

Not only does it provide protection and give a natural-looking glow, it’s also a fantastic hydrator thanks to the inclusion of hyaluronic acid. The hydrating heavyweight ingredient isn’t just for dry skin, it suits my oily skin by helping to stop the overproduction of oil. I’ve been using Tan-Luxe’s formula for around 10 days and my skin feels smoother than usual, which has ensured my tan looks smooth too.

It Sits Well Under Makeup...

Finding an SPF that sits well under makeup is no mean feat and I for one have tried a fair few. I have found sunscreens tend to make my oily skin look too shiny or the mattifying alternatives leave a chalky, white cast. This formula is different. It’s lightweight and not greasy in the slightest. Instead it feels more like a velvety serum and melts into the skin within seconds.

In fact, I found it primed my skin perfectly and created the perfect base for my usual tinted moisturiser.

It Won't Make You Break-Out..

With acne-prone skin, I’m always wary of trying new products, but this skin-friendly self-tan is packed full of antioxidant-rich superfoods, including raspberry seed oil and avocado. The difference with this compared to many other self-tanners, is that Tan–Luxe have really considered what is best for your skin and created a formula that can be used on even the most sensitive of skin.

I can certainly vouch for this as my skin (which can freak out just looking at some products) actually felt and looked much clearer and more even. Whilst I’m sure this was down to the tanning element of this product, it was great to know I was also protecting my skin with an SPF.
