Are Laneige's Bouncy & Firm Treatments Worth the Hype?

Laneige Bouncy & Firm Eye and Lip Treatments review | Space NK
Take one cursory scroll on social media and you’ll most likely stumble across a post praising Laneige's dewy, multitasking products. Since the early 1990s, the Korean Skincare brand has focused its practice on the power of water – specifically, how to harness its hydrating properties into silky-soft formulas that restore healthy, balanced skin.

The brand has now expanded the much-loved Bouncy & Firm family to include a new ultra-moisturising Lip Treatment, Eye Sleeping Mask and Bouncy & Firm serum.

Powered by science-backed ingredients and soothing botanicals, the Bouncy & Firm Lip Treatment visibly firms, plumps and hydrates lips with an enhancing glass-like shine while the accompanying Eye Sleeping Mask is infused with a potent blend of peony extract, collagen and peptides to cool puffiness and reduce the appearance of fine lines with regular use.

Now, let's get into the juicy details – are the latest recruits of Laneige's Bouncy & Firm line worth the investment? We asked Space NK team members to examine these formulas measure up to expectations. Read on and discover their honest reviews below.

Hanitra’s Laneige Bouncy & Firm Serum Review

The product: LANEIGE Bouncy & Firm Serum, € 36,00

Whilst I have oily skin, I love to use a hydrating serum in the morning as I tend to use acids or retinol in the evening, it's a good way to bring life back into my skin in the morning. I heard only good things about the rest of the Bouncy and Firm range, so I was excited to see what the hype was about and test out this new launch!

The texture of this serum is like nothing I have tried before, it almost feels like a jelly or an oil-serum consistency. When I first started rubbing the serum in, it felt very cooling, you can tiny bubbles of water burst an immediately give the skin the hydration it needs. I find it to be the perfect first step to a morning or a nighttime skincare routine. I have tried it with different serums and under makeup, and didn't notice any pilling - it's almost like my skin drank the serum and rather than having the feeling of applying a layer on the skin.

I noticed that my skin immediately felt more hydrated after I used it for the first time, and then I felt the different overtime as well. I can't say my skin feels more bouncy but I think anyone who has a dry skin type or deals with dehydration could really benefit from using this serum. It truly feels like a fresh glass of water for the skin.

Becci’s Laneige Bouncy & Firm Eye Sleeping Mask Review

The product: LANEIGE Bouncy & Firm Eye Sleeping Mask, € 25,60

Laneige Bouncy & Firm Eye Sleeping Mask review | Becci before & after

I am lackadaisical when it comes to applying eye cream. One month I’ll be dedicated, hoping I’ve instilled a new healthy habit then something will throw me off kilter and boom, I’ve not used an eye product for months. So, I was keen to try this as it appealed to me as a ‘do everything’ wonder – and all while I sleep.

Promising to hydrate, get rid of puffiness, smooth fine lines and boost elasticity, it’s all the things my eyes need. Especially as I head into my early 40s and my eyes are the giveaway of my age. Called Bouncy & Firm, the formula does feel ‘bouncy’ and it’s lovely and cooling on the skin which is what you want before bed after a long day staring at a screen. Or a long night socialising. I tried it after both eventualities and every time I woke up with smoother skin around my eyes, despite expecting my fine lines to be prominent from disrupted sleep or dehydration – the usual culprits.

After inspecting the ingredients, I can see why – a collagen complex, peptides, niacinamide and caffeine, they’re all known to boost circulation, brighten, hydrate and plump. I have experienced irritations before after using certain eye products but there was nothing of the sort here and I actually found myself looking forward to applying it to see the results in the morning. The formula also gave instant gratification as my skin looked smoother so while it’s designed for evening application, there have been a couple of cheeky occasions when I’ve applied it in the morning too. This one is a definite recommendation from me, a worthwhile investment.

Vanessa's Laneige Bouncy & Firm Lip Treatment Review

The product: LANEIGE Bouncy & Firm Lip Treatment, € 20,80

Vanessa's Laneige Bouncy & Firm Lip Treatment review | Space NK

I’m plagued with perennially dry lips all year round – so lip hydration is a vital part of my beauty routine. This includes keeping them hydrated throughout the day with lip balms, avoiding lipstick formulas that dry them out as little as possible and drinking lots of water. I also literally cannot go to bed without putting on some form of a lip balm or mask!

I’m familiar with Laneige’s viral lip masks so I was curious to see how this new treatment mask would differ from those. My first thoughts? Whilst I loved the charming packaging, it wasn’t obvious that you pull out the applicator from the cap to apply the product. It’s a clever design, but I was happy to apply it just with my fingers. As for the texture, it’s nothing like I’ve experienced before. I did find it very sticky and gooey – but this didn’t put me off in the slightest! My lips need all the hydration they can get and, once it’s on, this texture sits nicely on the lips.

Most importantly, it did a good job – I woke up with soft and cushiony lips. I wouldn’t say they looked particularly plumped. I personally found the thick texture comfortable, however, I don’t think I would wear it out of the house as I always wear lipstick, and it’s probably too syrupy and glossy to pair with any lip colour.

I’ll continue to use it as I love waking up to soft lips! Price wise, I’d say it’s worth it – but I can see some people being put off by the stickiness and thickness of it, as well as the fiddly packaging (I would love for it to come in a tube). If you also have dry lips but prefer thinner textures with more of a ‘barely there’ feel, I recommend you try my all-time favourite, Tatcha The Kissu Lip Mask.

Victoria’s Laneige Bouncy & Firm Sleeping Mask review

Skin type: Dry to combination

The product: LANEIGE Bouncy & Firm Sleeping Mask, € 29,44

There are a couple of face masks on rotation in my skincare routine at the moment – I always come back to the Sisley Black Rose Mask. As my skin leans towards to dry side of dry/combination, I prefer to use cream face masks and have been known to use them instead of moisturiser when my skin is feeling particularly dry.

Having used the , I wasn’t surprised that the Bouncy & Firm Sleeping Mask had a cream-gel texture. It was very easy to apply and absorbed quickly, but I did find myself applying an extra layer and pressing it onto my skin as it didn’t feel as hydrating as I was hoping for. Saying that, my skin didn’t feel tight or dry in the morning, so the mask definitely does hydrate!

I used Laneige Bouncy & Firm Sleeping Mask three times over the three weeks I reviewed it for and didn’t notice a huge difference in the look of my complexion, but, like Samira, I’ll definitely keep using it. The texture feels very luxurious, and I think this will be a formula I’ll reach for in the spring and summer months when my skin feels like dry.
