Tried & Tested: The NEW NARS Insatiable Liquid Blush

NARS Insatiable Liquid Blush review
Responsible for one of the most iconic blushes of all time, we have high expectations for NARS latest offering, the Insatiable Liquid Blush. Rather than a light wash of colour, this pigment-packed liquid promises to make a statement with minimal effort.

The NARS education team to us, "The perfect product to pair with this blush is another Insatiable Blush. Layering two liquid blush shades creates a beautifully melted, watercolour-like effect on the skin." You heard it here first, more is more. "They're truly minimal effort, maximum effect - delivering impactful colour payoff while still blending beautifully into your skin."

NARS Orgasm fans will pleased to hear that within the 16 satin and shimmer shades, there are four variations of the iconic shade to choose from. Plus, the skin-loving formula has been crafted to keep your skin looking supple and healthy.

It’s fair to say that no look is complete without a touch of blush. If you're keen to hear what our head office team had to say, keep scrolling.

Darcy’s Insatiable Liquid Blush Review

Product reviewed: Nars Insatiable Liquid Blush, € 39,00 in Orgasm Fantasy

Darcy's NARS Insatiable Liquid Blush Review

Blusher might just be my favourite makeup product. Over the years, I've switched between powder, cream and liquid formulas, and no matter the format, NARS blushes always find their way into my makeup bag. From the OG powder Orgasm Blush to the creamy Multiple Stick, the brand rarely misses for me.

I always find myself coming back to cream blush formulas for the blendability and natural finish, but I was excited to try this new liquid formula to see if it would convert me. I tested the shade Orgasm Fantasy, which is a little pinker than I'd typically choose, but it delivered the most gorgeous natural flush. I applied it to the tops of my cheekbones and into my temples, brushed some over my eyes, and even dabbed it on my lips for a monochromatic look.

Unlike some liquid blushes that sit on the skin, NARS' new formula felt like part of my complexion. The colour blended effortlessly and looked as though the flush had naturally risen to my skin. The result was a gorgeous, fresh and radiant finish that kept my complexion alive throughout the day. I have worn it every day since.

Product reviewed: Nars Insatiable Liquid Blush, € 39,00 in Orgasm Lust and Double Dare

Chloe's NARS Insatiable Liquid Blush Review

I used to love NARS' Liquid Blush before it got discontinued (the one with the pump), so I was rather excited to see whether the new Insatiable Liquid Blushes would fill the void.

I layered the shades Orgasm Lust and Double Dare because I have fair skin, and together they add a healthy flush that I could almost pass off as my own. Firstly, the jumbo doe-foot applicator makes it really easy to either dot the product straight onto your cheeks or, as I prefer to, apply it onto the squidgy part of my thumb before working it into my brush and dabbing it onto my cheeks. It's a method I picked up from Katie Jane Hughes, an NYC-based MUA, who says it creates a far more seamless blend and avoids disturbing any makeup underneath.

Quite simply, I lovethese blushes. They blend beautifully and add the prettiest flush to your skin. I genuinely can't imagine anyone not liking them, but especially if you loved the old NARS Liquid Blush, these are even better.

Product reviewed: Nars Insatiable Liquid Blush, € 39,00 in Que Calor, Orgasm and Brash

Isabel's NARS Insatiable Liquid Blush Review

I’ve been on a mission to experiment more with my makeup, so the encouragement of layering different shades is just what I needed to hear.

I started out by applying ‘Que Calor’, a dusty rose, to the apples of my cheeks and I was instantly impressed by how lightweight and easy to blend it was. If you’re ever nervous of cream blush being difficult to work with, rest assured, this is not the case.

Instead of highlighter, I added a touch of ‘Orgasm’, a shimmering peach pink to enhance my glow. I loved it so much, that I decided to take a bit of a risk and add ‘Brash’, a toasted Mahogany hue, around the bottom perimeter of my blush in the hopes of a more seamless blush-to-bronzer transition. As it’s slightly darker, I applied it onto the back of my hand first and buffed it on lightly. The colour melted like a dream. This technique really took the look to the next level.

This blush formula couldn’t have been easier to work with, my shades blended beautifully and created the perfect gradient. The satin and shimmer finishes gave a lovely sheen that lifted my cheeks, and at the end of the day, the rest of my base had faded but my vibrant blush remained strong. This is probably the best blush I've ever used, and it won’t be the last time I wear three at once!

Product reviewed: Nars Insatiable Liquid Blush, € 39,00 in Exhibit A

Ella's NARS Insatiable Liquid Blush Review

I'm always up for a bold makeup look, so Exhibit A, a bright red, was calling my name. This super pigmented shade looked intimidating at first, but a little goes a long way and the colour complimented my soft glam look beautifully. The formula sat nicely on my skin, creating a slightly blurred, soft-focus finish. This is why it's so good to have skincare within your colour products.

You only need a tiny amount and it blends so seamlessly into your base. For a more natural look, I'd suggest tapping in with your fingers but I used a brush on top of my foundation. The formula is so creamy! The shade looked gorgeous on its own, creating a natural flush that made me look like I'd spent a gorgeous afternoon in the sun.

I am a red blush girl through and through, it's such an underrated shade. Having tried so many, I am obsessed with the versatility of this one as it's so buildable. You can get a nice natural wash of colour or make a statement without looking too crazy.

Our Verdict On the NARS Insatiable Liquid Blush

In a nutshell, everybody loved this blush and there's bound to be a shade you adore.

THE PROS: From the creamy, dreamy blend, to the long-lasting staying power, this blush was easy to use with professional looking results. The shades work well when layered or worn alone, and make an impact without being overpowering.

THE CONS: Some of the shades were slightly misleading at first glance, but once blended transformed into something flattering and wearable. Don't be afraid to lean into your artistry!
