Why Tatcha Dewy Skin Cream Remains A Firm Favourite

Tatcha Dewy Skin Cream Review | Space NK
If you’re reading this, chances are you’ve seen the hype around Tatcha The Dewy Skin Cream, and you’re wondering whether it lives up to the buzz. If this is your first time hearing about it, here’s a quick intro: this luxurious moisturiser from a Japanese skincare brand promises plump, dewy skin and is marketed as suitable for all skin types, tones, and age ranges.

It’s formulated with hyaluronic acid for hydration, an Okinawa algae blend to moisturise and soothe, and Japanese purple rice to boost firmness, and it claims to revive dry, lacklustre complexions. And judging by the flood of positive posts on social media, many users feel it delivers.

But does this moisturiser work for everyone? And is it truly worth the investment? To find out, we asked two Space NK team members to review Tatcha’s Dewy Skin Cream and share their honest takes.

Lauren’s Tatcha The Dewy Skin Cream Review

• Skin type: Sensitive, blemish prone skin

• Skin tone: Medium to dark

• The products: Tatcha The Dewy Skin Cream, € 30,00

Full disclosure, I’ve used Tatcha’s Dewy Skin Cream before, it’s a formula I come back to time and time again when my skin feels out of sorts. I’m also a big fan of the and Tatcha The Rice Polish: Classic, € 75,00.

Before using the Tatcha Dewy Skin Cream for this review I was using a moisturiser that didn’t agree with my skin’s needs and caused me to breakout. My skin was feeling a bit dry and tight. I moisturise twice a day after I shower and if I don’t, my skin lets me know very quickly.

Within a couple of days of using it the Dewy Skin Cream helped to soothe my skin and give it the hydration and nourishment it needed. I love the delicate scent and the creamy texture is right up my street. This Tatcha moisturiser feels super luxurious and left my skin feeling soft, hydrated and radiance – so much so, I felt comfortable enough to leave the house wearing just moisturiser and SPF without any makeup.

Using the formula again for this review confirmed that Tatcha The Dewy Skin Cream is definitely one of my favourite moisturisers and I’ll always come back to it.

Kelsea’s Tatcha The Dewy Skin Cream Review

• Skin type: Extremely dry and dehydrated

• Skin tone: Warm

• The products: Tatcha The Dewy Skin Cream, € 30,00

Although I’ve used Tatcha The Camellia Cleansing Oil, € 56,00, the Rice Polish that Lauren’s used and Tatcha The Essence, € 120,00, I hadn’t used the Dewy Cream before this review. My skin had been feeling very dry so I was hoping this moisturiser would live up to its hydrating reputation.

When I first used the Dewy Cream I was surprised by the colour, I wasn’t expecting it to be purple. Luckily it doesn’t give your skin a purple tinge and the fragrance isn’t overwhelming, it gives the moisturiser a fresh, clean feeling. The texture feels quite gel like, so despite being quite thick it doesn’t feel heavy or cloying. Immediately after applying the Dewy Cream my skin felt hydrated, soft and soothed.

I used the Dewy Skin Cream consistently after my serum in the morning and before my primer and SPF for a month. Every day it left my skin feeling amazing, I think it’s become my favourite day-time moisturiser as it gives your skin a subtle dewiness and sits perfectly under makeup.

The Verdict: Is Tatcha Dewy Cream Worth It?

From both reviews it’s clear that Tatcha The Dewy Skin Cream, € 30,00 is definitely worth the investment if you’re looking for a hydrating moisturiser to soothe dry skin. “You will love this moisturiser as much as I do if you have combination or dry skin and prefer a thicker cream with a luxurious feel,” says Lauren.

Rather handily, the brand offers a 10ml pot for those keen to road test the formula before investing in 50ml. It’s also a great option for travelling too.
