Two Different Skin Types Try Tatcha's New Dewy Milk

Rooted in centuries-old Japanese rituals, Tatcha blends time-honoured botanicals with modern, clinically proven ingredients, with each formula designed to nourish both your skin and your soul. Long before glazed skin was trending on socials, Tatcha's Dewy Skin range of moisturisers, essences, and serums were bottling that signature glass-like glow. The newest addition to the Dewy dynasty builds on that legacy, gifting deep hydration, balanced oil production and that unmistakable Tatcha radiance. So, what are the main differences?
Dewy Milk Moisturiser vs Dewy Skin Cream: What is the difference?
Both the Dewy Skin Cream and Dewy Milk Moisturiser share the same glow-boosting philosophy: to deeply hydrate, strengthen the skin barrier, and protect against environmental stressors. Both are powered by the brand's signature Japanese Purple Rice which is rich in antioxidants, helping to defend against free radicals and improve overall hydration. The key differences? It’s all in the texture and the skin type it's designed for.The original Dewy Skin Cream is known (and loved) for its rich, cushiony feel. Think of it as an A-list facial in a jar. With a quenching blend of hyaluronic acid and squalane, it cocoons the skin in lasting moisture, ideal for dry skin or for those colder months when your complexion needs a comforting hug.
The new Dewy Milk Moisturiser, on the other hand, is a featherlight alternative designed with balance in mind. Zinc hyaluronate helps minimise water loss while supporting the skin’s barrier and regulating oil, striking that elusive ‘just right’ hydration level. Antioxidant-rich prebiotic green tea nurtures the microbiome, enhancing the glow from within. With its silky, weightless texture, it’s ideal for oilier skin types or warm-weather routines where lightness and breathability are key.

Emily’s Tatcha Dewy Milk Moisturiser Review
• Skin type: Oily, blemish-prone, and easily congested in warm weather
• The product:

I I have oily skin that's prone to blemishes, so while I've always adored the rich, velvety texture of the original Dewy Skin Cream, its heavier formula just doesn't work for me - especially in the warmer months when my skin is already feeling overloaded and heavy formulas start to feel stuffy. As soon as the weather heats up, I start looking for moisturisers that won't clog my pores or add to the shine. That's why I was genuinely excited to try the new Dewy Skin Milk. And honestly, I'm in love. I've been using it for a few months now, and it's far better suited to my skin type. It still delivers that signature Tatcha hydration, bounce, and glow but in a way that feels breathable and balanced, not heavy or greasy.
In summer, I always reach for moisturisers that feel featherlight but work, and this one absolutely delivers. From the moment I apply it, my skin drinks it up. It instantly soothes and hydrates without ever sitting on the surface or adding to oiliness. Instead, it leaves behind the most gorgeous glow (as you can see!) and layers perfectly under makeup. This is a massive win for me because nothing is worse than your makeup slipping off your face come midday. What I've loved most is how balanced my skin feels throughout the day: less oily, less congested, and still radiant in all the right places. After consistent use, my skin has been looking plumper, clearer, and more even. It's hands down become my go-to summer moisturiser.
Lily’s Tatcha Dewy Milk Moisturiser Review
• Skin type: Combination, with an oily T-zone and dullness in dry areas
• The product:

My skin is combination which means I get oily through my T-zone and chin but often dry and dull across my cheeks and jawline. It’s that frustrating mix where I’m battling shine and flaky patches at the same time. As I've gotten older, my skin’s become shinier during the day and more prone to breakouts, but I’ve also started noticing areas that feel tight or dehydrated if I don’t moisturise properly. That’s why hydration is non-negotiable to keep everything balanced (and keep oil production in check).
I’ve tried the original Dewy Skin Cream and completely understand the hype, but the rich texture just overwhelmed my oilier zones. I really love Tatcha as a brand and have always used Tatcha’s The Water Cream as a lighter option that is more in tune with my skin’s changing needs. So, when I heard about Dewy Milk, I was incredibly excited.
From the first use, I was hooked. The formula is super lightweight and gives me that same dewy finish, but with a breathable, weightless feel. It gives my drier patches the nourishment they need without overloading the oilier areas. After application, my skin looks and feels fantastic, and by the end of the day, it still looks fresh and radiant - never greasy.
Now that I've been using it for over a month, I've noticed that my skin looks less dull and even slightly less oily in areas where I used to struggle. I'll 100% keep using it, and it might even replace my beloved Water Cream. I love that I can finally be a true Tatcha Dewy girl!
