What are the new Dyson products?

The concept is based on pre-styling and post-styling and includes two easy to incorporate hair products that care for your hair, provide protection and hold, add shine and fight frizz. First up is the Pre-Style Cream that’s available in four variations designed to correlate with your hair – a light version and a rich version for straight to wavy hair and a light and rich formula for curly to coiled hair. All four have the same texture and transform from a cream to a sheer serum in your hand.

What differs between them is some of the ingredients as they’re specifically engineered to manage your natural hair shape and conditioning preferences. For example, the levels of polymers and emollients vary in each – in the light variations lighter oils like grapeseed oil are used, while in the rich variants, denser oils such as caster seed oil have been chosen as it can penetrate and nourish thicker hair better and without the risk of weighing it down or making hair look greasy.

All products also contain conditioning agents that have been shown to reduce frizz by 50% along with high performing silicones that add smoothness and gloss for a mirror-shine finish.

Then, once you’ve styled your hair, the Post-Style Serum comes into play. Promising hold, hydration and definition, this can be used by all hair types, regardless of their structure. Locking in your chosen style once your hair is dry, the formula also contains hyaluronic acid to act as a protective shield and stop your hair swelling with frizz in any humidity, and amino acids that repair surface damage and help hair look smooth and silky.

How do you use the new Dyson Chitosan products?

The Pre-Style cream should be thought of as a primer and should be run through damp, towel-dried hair with your hands before using heated tools and styling products. The Post-Style Serum just needs to be run through your hair once styled to define. Whether you’ve dried it straight, curled it, have crafted the perfect bouncy ponytail, run it through your hair from root to tip.

What’s especially clever about these Dyson products – and let’s face it, we wouldn’t expect anything less – is that there is no risk of over applying. After crafting a highly concentrated formula, the idea is that a little goes a long way so the Dyson engineers have created a precision application that dispenses the same 0.22ml amount with every pump. Preventing waste and over usage, the product is also refillable with the inner cartridges perfectly fine to be recycled at home.
