Stephanie, Space NK’s email marketing assistant: “I like to mix up my fragrances – Diptyque Do Son Eau de Parfum, € 175,95 is probably the one I tend to wear the most though. I’d say DedCool’s Milk Layering + Fragrance Enhancer is very fresh with a hint of muskiness. It doesn't really remind me of any other fragrance. It's nice and I think I would wear it. I wouldn't layer it during the day, but I might be tempted to in the evening if I wanted a stronger scent. It's a very neutral scent – it’s neither girly nor masculine.”

Eleanor, Space NK’s senior marketing manager: “I don't have a signature scent or a fragrance family that I'm drawn to. Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 Eau de Toilette, € 80,00 is my go-to perfume and I like it because it doesn't have a distinguishable scent and couldn’t be categorised as a floral or fruity or woody fragrance. It has that initial alcohol scent, but on the dry down the fragrance opens up and smells really nice.

“I would say DedCool’s fragrance is very similar in its approach, although it does give you more in the initial spritz. There’s slightly more sweetness, but overall, it’s perfectly inoffensive. I would definitely wear it on its own as I’m not confident enough to layer my fragrances.”

Lizzie, Space NK’s product manager: “Straight off the bat, this is a ‘me’ scent. It’s musky and slightly florally, but it’s quite light – I guess that’s because it’s designed to be layered. I would say it’s quite close to the skin. I’m not sure I’d wear it by itself as I like more powdery scents and I also like a fragrance that packs a punch.”

Lizzie, the next morning: “In the evening I could really smell the perfume, it got much stronger over time. So much so, I ended up ordering DedCool Xtra Milk Eau De Parfum, € 27,00, which is the same scent but more potent.”

DedCool Milk Layering + Enhancer Eau De Parfum, € 27,00 is a fragrance to seek out if you like musky scents or like a perfume that smells unique and prompts people to ask what you’re wearing. Unsurprisingly, musk was a note that a couple of reviewers picked up on, but there wasn’t a particular genre or fragrance family.
