Jess Hunt’s REFY Skin Base review

REFY Skin Tint Review Jess Hunt | Space NK

The most important thing for me when creating a base product was that it had to look and feel like real skin. I never wanted something that masked the complexion or felt heavy. Achieving that perfect balance between coverage and transparency was essential, so it could even out tone beautifully while still letting your skin show through. It was also incredibly important that it was shaped by our community. We listened closely to their feedback - how they wanted a base to wear, how it should last throughout the day, and what was missing from their current routines. That insight influenced everything from the adaptable, buildable formula to the innovative, mess-free packaging.

I wear shade 150N, which is our light-to-medium neutral with subtle olive tones. I love how adaptable and flexible it is, especially as my tone shifts slightly throughout the year. I use the REFY Complexion Brush to apply it. It gives the most seamless, skin-like finish and really helps the tint melt into the complexion. I’m honestly obsessed with the press pump packaging. It dispenses the perfect amount of product without any mess or waste, and the built-in palette element lets me prime my brush before applying it to my face. It genuinely feels like a gamechanger in my routine: effortless, clean, and designed to make achieving that natural finish even easier.

I’d describe the coverage as light to buildable - it perfects and evens out the complexion without ever masking your skin. It softens redness and blurs any unevenness, while still letting your natural skin come through, which was so important to me when creating it. It’s that “your skin, just healthier” effect rather than a traditional foundation look. On my combination skin, it controls excess shine where I need it while keeping the rest of my face hydrated and smooth. Instead of breaking down, it fades softly and evenly, maintaining that fresh, healthy finish. One pump is enough for my whole face when I want something super sheer and effortless, or I’ll apply 3-4 pumps to build coverage. It’s that versatility that makes it such a staple in my routine.

I always start with a well-prepped base, for me, that’s Face Sculpt - Lift And Hydrate to hydrate and sculpt, followed by our community-favourite Face Primer Glow And Sculpt. Together they create the perfect canvas that's smooth, fresh and subtly radiant, and Skin Base applies effortlessly on top. I also love pairing Skin Base with our Cream Bronzer and Cream Blush. The textures work so seamlessly together; everything blends beautifully without lifting or disturbing the base.

Sophie’s REFY Skin Base review

REFY Skin Tint Review Sophie | Space NK

In tune with the clean-girl aesthetic, I tend to favour a light, glow-giving foundation. I do like a little bit of coverage that doesn’t feel too heavy, and I like a lot of hydration and glow that won’t compromise the rest of my makeup. REFY’s aesthetic really captures the vibe I'm going for, and as a member of the social team, I have loved watching their campaign unfold. I fully expected to be wowed by this Skin Tin, as REFY always stands out.

As I applied the Skin Tint with my REFY Complexion Brush. Firstly, the blend was next level, and the gel texture felt so nourishing. I thought the minimalistic packaging was genius - I love how chic it is. I could immediately see that my skin looked airbrushed yet felt totally breathable.

The finished look was very natural. I paired it with my REFY Cream Bronzer and the Westman Baby Cheeks Cream Blush for a classic ‘no make-up make-up look’ and curled my lashes with the Space NK Eyelash Curlers.

The finish was none other than what I strive for daily. Flawless with a slightly dewy glow. I touched up with a dusting of powder and will continue to reach for this product on lighter makeup days. It’s just perfect for fetching compliments on how fresh I look when at work or out and about, day to day.

Nabi’s REFY Skin Base review

REFY Skin Tint Review Nabi | Space NK

Whenever I try out a new base product, I worry that it might cling to the drier areas around my nose and eyes. However, I had faith in REFY because I’ve used many of their products. My favourite? Definitely the Cream Blush! I applied shade 160W, and I have to say, it’s the best match I've experienced with a lightweight product like this. I feel like a lot of research has gone into the undertones.

As I applied, the main standout for me was how lightweight it felt on my skin. I felt very refreshed, and my skin looked really hydrated. The tint is very creamy and blends in easily and quickly. My skin truly drank up the moisture, and it blended quickly without sitting on my skin's surface, which is something I often notice with skin tints.

In terms of coverage, it built up beautifully in areas with more redness, so I do buy into the versatility! It’s just an easy-to-use, mess-free product, and I would recommend it to all skin types, as it sat comfortably and lasted well.

REFY has really solidified its positioning as an all-round brand by mastering the perfect natural everyday finish from base to lips. I will be excited to use this again and let all my friends know that they should try it.

Lauren’s REFY Skin Base review

Shade reviewed: REFY Skin Base, € 36,00 in 190W

REFY Skin Tint Review Lauren | Space NK

I’m always looking out for ways to add luminosity to my complexion with light to medium coverage. Typically, this comes in the form of Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter, so the fact that REFY's new Skin Base promises to be less ‘heavy-duty' than a foundation ticks all my boxes. Plus, I absolutely LOVE the REFY Brow Sculpt. It honestly gives me perfect brows, and the shape stays in place all day.

I used shade 190W, which blended into my skin so nicely, and I could immediately see the glow, which for me was just the right amount. It was lovely to see a decent touch of coverage too; it was just enough to even out my skin tone. I feel like people might think that this was my natural skin and that I wasn’t wearing makeup. Plus, the packaging design is so hygienic, especially compared to a wand applicator. I love how I didn’t have to get my hands messy either, which is always such a pain. The pump gave me the perfect amount, and even for the ease of applying alone, I can see this becoming one of my go-to base products.

To complement the look, I set my T-zone with powder, contoured and finished off with my favourite REFY products – It’s only right! The REFY Lash Sculpt lengthens my lashes like no other, and the REFY Lip Sculpt in shade Sepia paired with the REFY Tinted Lip Gloss in shade Suede is my go-to lip combo! I’ve been loving these products for a while, so it’s nice to add another REFY product to the roster.

For such lightweight coverage, the formula lasted well. I think it’s perfect for holidays, especially when going to a beach club or day event, so I won’t need to worry about my foundation sweating off or feeling heavy. It’s even perfect for everyday, as a 5-minute busy-girl makeup routine.

Our Verdict On REFY's Skin Base

The girls all agreed one on thing: lightweight, hydrating ‘your skin but better’ coverage.

THE PROS: This skin base was incredibly easy to use thanks to the built-in palette, blended quickly and lasted well throughout the day. All our reviewers enjoyed a natural finish that lasted well, and it complimented their different skin types.

THE CONS: Despite being buildable, this skin tint was deemed best for daytime wear, as most are!
