Drunk Elephant was born out of founder Tiffany Masterson’s ongoing struggle with a range of skin complaints. After becoming disillusioned with the products at her disposal and the ingredients they were formulated with, she launched Drunk Elephant as a biocompatible skincare range in 2012, creating each product as a potent, easily absorbed elixir.

Each product in the Drunk Elephant range is formulated with a high percentage of active ingredients, all made at skin-friendly PH levels. Whether you’re looking to battle blemishes, reduce redness or revitalise the complexion, there are a variety of options for all concerns and any skin type.

They’re a cult favourite for a reason and are often touted as one of the best skincare brands out there, with quality and efficacy at the heart of each formulation. But it’s not just your skincare regime that can benefit from the range, as Drunk Elephant has forayed into body care and haircare too.

One of the best!

I love this cleanser, it non irritating and just melts on the skin. I always use the bamboo exfoilant that comes with it for extra cleansing. Skin feels lovely clean and fresh after using it. It lasts for ages too as you only need to use a little of it. Highly recommend!

Best Use: Hydrating

Lovely cleanser

This is a great balm cleanser, probably the best I've tried. It is expensive, yes, but it lasts a very long time as you only need the tiniest amount of product. I haven't used the bamboo exfoliant that comes with it as I have sensitive skin, so I can't comment on that. I love that this cleansing balm doesn't leave any residue or tackiness on the skin.

Best Use: Hydrating

Butter yes! Bamboo no

The butter I love and keep repurchasing. It actually removes makeup (such a - strangely - hard product to find) and leaves my skin non-greasy, but is perfect in a double cleanse regimen. The bamboo exfoliant I am having a harder time loving. It exfoliates. But it is messy and leaves residue. I tend to just use it when travelling as it’s a small container and then also at least it’s just the hotel towels left with the dark pieces. I’ll stick with just the butter.

Drunk Elephant Slaai Makeup Melting Butter Cleanser

I grew to love this product gradually. As someone who prides in putting a ton of importance in double cleansing, I always love trying new makeup removers, especially cleansing balms. The first time I used it, I wanted to give up on it. The scent threw me off even if it's unscented. Do you know what I mean? I'll talk about the packaging in a bit, but what I do love is that it comes with a magnetic scoop that sticks to the lid which makes the experience of using the product that much easier. Scooping out some of the balm, I was in awe of how rich the formula was and how thicccccc the balm actually is. When it came to rinsing it off, I was a bit sceptical at first because I heard from many that it left a thick film, almost buttery. For me, it didn't. Most people probably experienced it leaving a film either because a) they didn't cleanse with warm water or b) they didn't cleanse for long enough. For me, it leaves my skin so soft and moisturized after rinsing it off. As it's a first cleanse, following with my double cleanse (water based cleanser) feels great because my barrier doesn't feel dry from the beginning of my routine.
