Summary of Customer Ratings & Reviews
I really wanted to love this but I just couldn't see how it was worth the cost. The scent is really one-note and overly sweet, like something from ASOS or H&M. The wick on my wasn't centred at all so the candle burned unevenly. It looks great of course, but it feels like all the focus is on sharp millennial branding, with no attention to quality. Disappointing.

Lovely tropical scent
I bought this candle around Christmas expecting a more festive scent. I have only recently started the burn the candle as to me this is a spring/summer scent. I absolutely love the smell, it is sweet and powdery with a slightly tropical scent. I find the throw is very good and it fills the room with scent. My only criticism of the candle is the fact that this is the second one from the brand that hasn’t burned evenly and the wick doesn’t seem to be properly centred.
Scent is very sweet
Like other Boy Smells candles, the quality and throw is great, however I found the scent a bit too one-note and sweet for my liking. If you really concentrate you can smell some of the more complex notes, but they are too subtle to make an impression.
ok I guess
Got this around Christmas time. Description of the notes are indeed misleading. No clove and peppercorn, instead quite floral, and scent is not unique and similar candles can be easily found in the market. This is the first Boy Smells candle so I am not sure about future purchase of this brand now. I bought it also because 'Lanai' reminds me of holiday and I think they might just as well call it 'floral'.
While this is a good quality candle it does not smell as described. No Clove, peppercorn or coal smells whatsoever. Previous customers review is misleading - no “Christmas” fragrances but rather a synthetic floral smell which is overbearing. Would not recommend this particular candle. Bought online as not available in store.
