A bit odd, but useful
This is an interesting beastie. I've never had much success with blonde-brightening conditioners, probably because I think they try to do two opposing things at the same time. To deposit pigment and neutralise yellow, you need to remove oils from the hair, but to condition the hair you need to add these back. I've always found any conditioner or mask that neutralised brassiness without leaving my hair too dry only lasted until the first wash then the effect was gone. The neutralising effect from this mask actually lasted through the first wash, but was pretty much gone after the second. I think it might do this by coating the hair in tinted conditioners that actually cling to the hair more, as it definitely felt like it was slightly coated in something after rinsing thoroughly. No purple transferred to clothing or pillowcase, but I felt a texture difference somewhat on the hair. If that will annoy you, then this might not be for you. I found it sufficiently promising to buy the full size, but may not re-purchase when this is finished. For a purple shampoo though, nothing beats Schwartzkopf Bonacure Colour Freeze Silver.

Love this
I’m really impressed with this brand. I use this once a week and it keeps my icy blonde nice and bright. I prefer this to a shampoo as I find they dry my hair. I only leave it on for 5 minutes as that is more than enough. I have shoulder length hair and this tub lasts me ages. It loses a star as it’s a plastic tub and a bit fiddly/messy getting it out.

Effective at removing brassiness
I received a sample of this mask and couldn't wait to try it this summer with my natural highlights. It is very effective at reducing the brassiness colour, however, it doesn't give the 'repair' feature of a hair mask that I prefer. This mask is very thin and is basically just a pigment to put in the hair, rather than a restorative conditioning mask.

I like the conditioner better
Usually I particularly look forward to the treatment that is a hair mask, luxuriously sitting in my hair, working it's magic. The entire concept of the hair mask treating my locks and transforming them particularly shiny and smooth appeals to me. However, I must note that, while this Amika mask seems to delve into the brassiness-issue demonstrably well, it leaves my hair very coarse and an entangled mess. In contrast, the Amika conditioner from the Bust My Brass line (my number one favourite product from Amika) seems to not only keep my hair nicely brass-free but also make it luxuriously soft and easy to manage; therefore, I mainly prefer the conditioner, despite the mask perhaps providing a heavier anti-brassing effect.

One of the best
I received a sample of this with one of my orders and it instantly went on my list to buy! I have naturally brunette hair which I dye a similar colour to my own to get rid of greys around my crown and sides of head… sometimes I find that box dyes look a bit brassy as they get older… this is a game changer… beautiful ashy brown hair incoming. As far as nourishment, I’m neither here nor there about it, but it certainly gets rid of brassy tones!
