Earthy, woody undertones with a hint of juniper.
Aroma from this candle is a little different so may not be to everyone's taste. So if it's a gift then you may want to choose a safer option. That said it's very pleasant, earthy, woody. Like all Diptyque candles the smell lingers long after the candle has been extinguished so they don't need to be burnt for too long.

Smoky
This candle has a very woody, smoky and earthy scent. I’m not usually a fan of the smoky scents (Feu de bois etc.) but this one is more balanced. It reminds me of the Essence of John Galliano candle. It smells gorgeous when burned alongside Narguilé (which adds a little bit of sweetness) and also with the Roses, as on its own it can be a little bit too sharp.

The great outdoors
This candle smells like the great outdoors, it’s earthy, dirty and quite green. It smells like fresh hay, rain and grass cuttings. The scent is beautiful and refreshing, I particularly burn it when it’s raining or overcast outside. The candle has burned okay so far, there have been a couple of issues with tunnelling but it rectified itself further down the jar.

Great scent but issues with burn...
I love the scent of this candle (when it eventually comes through) but wouldn’t buy again due to the issues I had when burning it. It doesn’t burn evenly at all - space NK customer service was great as I complained twice, sent it back and got a replacement the first time - unfortunately the same thing happened again. In the end I decided against sending it back for the second time as the scent got better but feel frustrated that the issues have been mentioned previously and nothing has been done about it by Diptyque!
Fabulous fragrance
I adore Diptyque candles and Vetyver as more than lived up to my expectations. It is a highly perfumed candle and I would describe the scent as woody with background notes of oud. Within 10 minutes of lighting the candle my room was filled with a luxurious heady scent. While expensive compared to other scented candles on the market Diptyque are in a league of their own.
