Apply sunscreen liberally before sun exposure.
You can use the Sun Drops separately, 5 minutes after appyling your Face Cream (Rich) or add a few drops to the cream. Applying a diluted mixture of sunscreen and cream will reduce the level of sun protection (i.e. the SPF) indicated.
Avoid intensive midday sun. Reapply frequently in order to maintain protection, especially after perspiring, swimming or drying off with a towel.
Do not overexpose yourself to the sun, even if you are using sun-screen.

Protects well but sticky
I definitely did not burn even in the very harsh sun area. However, the cream is very sticky, I did not like the application. I find the glass bottle also not handy for an SPF product, it is very thick and then a lot of it still stays in the bottle as the applicator does not reach the bottom. I would stick with the spf-focussed brands that both protect and apply nicely without stickiness.

Nice spf
I received a deluxe sample of the sun drops in a beauty box. I tested them out on a recent city break in Europe. I have to say I really liked the 'watery' texture (as it is described by other reviewers) and found it easily absorbed into my skin, without leaving a white cast. However, I'm unlikely to purchase, given the price of the drops.

The key concern is the price…
This is a clever product that seems to deliver – it absorbs easily, does not leave white residue and is not greasy, but the price seems a bit excessive for an SPF given the amount of sunscreen that is advisable to use on the face and the need to re-apply it during the day if it is sunny, £115 for 30ml would be used rather quickly under such scenario – or you will not end up using as much as necessary. In terms of applying it with a serum or a moisturiser, I read in several dermatologists’ books that SPF cancels pretty much everything in other products if applied together, hence it needs to be applied ~5min after your serum or moisturiser if they have some additional qualities that you are hoping for, otherwise go for the most basic moisturiser if you mix it with SPF. So two points less only for the price and these considerations

Must have
The Drops are more like a than cream than a light serum. This is good actually, a cream formula is better for sunscreens, serums tend towards a less even layer of protection. It has a chemical smell, which is neither bad or good. I like that it doesn’t have fragrance, fragrance is not beneficial for the skin. Barbara Sturm Sun Drops has a sticky texture and feels moisturising. It sets quite quickly, you don’t have much time to blend. Once on, the skin feels moisturised but tacky. I have to wash my hands after applying because the stickiness persists. The skin looks slightly glowy but not shiny. It doesn’t pill and works well under makeup. A couple of times I’ve got the product very close to my eye and there was a bit of stinging. There is no white cast on me.

Denser is better
Although I typically enjoy using Dr. Sturm’s product line due to their use of natural ingredients and fragrance-free formulas, I found their Sun drop to be quite unusual. Unlike other SPF products available in the market, this one has a watery texture which did not meet my expectations. I personally prefer using cream-textured SPF or oil-rich formulas, so unfortunately, this product is not suitable for me.
