Maintain youthful-looking skin with Paula’s Choice Clinical 1% Retinol Treatment, a specially formulated lotion that helps to combat the signs of ageing. This carefully formulated blend of antioxidants, retinol and soothing plant extracts helps to refine pore size and reduce the appearance of fine lines and discolouration.
Antioxidants help combat external stressors on the skin, while retinol works to minimise the look of wrinkles for a more youthful complexion. Soothing plant extracts such as liquorice and oats work to reduce redness and inflammation.
Limit use to three times a week initially. Gradually increase use up to once nightly, as tolerated. Apply a pea-sized amount of Paula’s Choice Clinical 1% Retinol Treatment after cleansing and toning, being careful to avoid the eye and lip area.

Powerful treatment leaves me glowing!
I have just begun skin cycling recently, and the day that my skin looks most fresh and glowy is the day after applying this treatment! I wake up with a lot less redness, smaller pores, less blackheads and my skin just looks healthier overall. It's amazing! I will mention, you do need to be careful with this stuff! Take around 3 day breaks to let your skin barrier recover or your skin might start to peel. Especially if you are new to retinoids!

Recommended for new user
I would recommend this to new retinol users. I went through two bottles of this upon my friend’s recommendation. My skin would react to almost everything but this is gentle enough for new users. I dont have visible lines so I cant really comment on that aspect. I use retinol more on the maintenance of my current skin condition.

A really moisturising retinol
This is probably my favourite texture of all the retinol formulations I've tried. Really moisturising, and leaves a lovely dewy finish. BUT it's worth nothing that this specific formulation of retinol takes a little bit more work to be effective (look up Caroline Hirons' retinol database) than some other preparations. But like everything in life, it's a trade off between the long and short term effects (i.e. effectiveness vs. feeling nice on skin) so your mileage may vary!

Great levelling up retinol
This is my go to retinol now my skin has adjusted and I want something stronger. Definitely ease into it when you first try it but it’s perfect if you’re looking to move on from your entry level retinol.

Breakout
I'm so disappointed I spent £50 on this. As far a retinol goes, it is effective, however it has made me breakout really badly! The opposite of what retinal usually does for me. I decided to take a break from it and give it a second chance, just in case. I tried it again after a few weeks, on just one cheek and it has caused lots of deep spots in the area I have used it. Because I gave it a second chance I am now past the point of being able to return it. Very disappointed!
