One of my all time favourite producs
I've been using Laura Mercier Tightline Cake Eyeliner for the past couple of years and it's one of my all-time favourites. The pigmentation is amazing and it wears so well throughout the day without smudging or fading. It's definitely become my go-to eyeliner - I absolutely love it!

quality!
I was in the market for a new eyeliner and did not want to pay high-end prices. I found this gem after doing some research and I am so happy that I took a chance on this great deal! It's creamier than other pencils that I have tried and doesn't tug at my skin.

Such a great product!
This was one of those chance finds that I absolutely love! It takes a little effort to get the technique right but, once there, it is outstandingly good to use. The line can be very fine, much better than a pencil, and simply doesn't budge once set. Brilliant stuff and I'm so glad I tried it. I use the black version at the moment but am really keen to try the blue -it looks amazing.

Great stuff
I have this in espresso, loads of product for the price. I wet with setting spray or the illamasqua sealer for stay put liner. I also am of an age to recall my older aunties using “cake mascara” and have used this as mascara with a spoolie. Great stuff

The best liner for tightlining upper lashline
I have used the Laura Mercier Tightline Cake Eye Liner in Black Ebony for what must be 15+ years and I have yet to find anything that can rival it for staying power, opacity and reliability. My tips for creating a long-lasting line on the upper waterline would be: 1) Use a very fine flat brush (my tip is to go to an art shop and pick up a very affordable synthetic brush for this purpose. My brush has bristles around 5mm width by 7mm length and max 1mm depth). 2) Take a few drops of water in a separate pot/palette and lightly swirl the brush so that it is fully wet. 3) Now swirl the brush in your Cake Eye Liner until it is coated with product. 4) Holding your upper eyelid stable with your non-dominant hand, take the brush in your dominant hand and use very light pressure to dab the pigment just below but as close to your upper lashline as possible. Keep dabbing the brush along the upper waterline, keeping as close to the lashes as you can. You are trying to create a line at the very base of the lashes. This will ensure that the line can dry and shouldn't budge or smudge at all. If you bring the line lower and coat the part of the waterline that is constantly wet as it is in contact with your eye, this is when you may experience transfer. Just adjust the placement so that you are only applying to the very top of the inner waterline, nearest the lashes. Hope this helps. There is a knack to using this eye liner but it really isn't any more difficult than a regular pencil liner once you get the hang of it. I use it daily and it probably takes me about 3 minutes for both eyes. You never need to sharpen a cake liner and it never dries out. I find it much less messy to use and one of these with daily use lasts me approximately 6-9 months. I have tried the Mahogany, Bleu Marine and Black Ebony shades and prefer the Black Ebony. It is not a harsh black and adds perfect definition.
