Nothing special

Bottom line, this is not much different to a standard primer. If anything, I found it a bit greasy and it needs to be 'set' with powder or eyeshadow if you want it to stay put. The packaging feels luxurious, the colour is lovely and works with the hologram eyeshadow that they suggest but I couldn't help feeling I was being duped into buying 2 products to create one effect.

An ok product

This is quite a strange product. If I use it as an eyeshadow base, I find that initially it does make the eyeshadows that I apply on top seem slightly more intense in colour. However, it does crease very quickly so I prefer to use an alternative eyeshadow base underneath. If I apply this as an eyeshadow, then it does give a very natural look but it also ends up creasing quite quickly. So I definitely have other cream eyeshadows that I prefer to this.

It is more of a solo artist

I have tried sooooo many eye shadow base creams I could start my own reviews on just those. Most dry up and go all clumpy as the day goes on, especially if you’ve got dry skin. So when I spotted this, I thought might as well try a different type. This is great, particularly all by its lonesome, it stays on and does not give you the freshly dragged through mud look that so many of them do. However, it performed a little less well under an eye shadow. For that it was lacking. On its own, it makes you look so very natural. A good buy.

Basically an expensive primer

I have a few metallic eyeshadows from another brand and a Halogram colour from the same collection that I wanted to intensify with the cream base. I was going to try the Dark Matter but thought this may be more versatile. On it's own, it's quite thick and gives a good, even coverage at first but creases very quickly for me. It's a really neutral shade that seems to go with most of my makeup collection, but it really needs a powder on top to set it - and then you lose the tone. When I used it with the eye-shadows on top, it had more staying power, but didn't do much more than an cheaper eye primer which I already own. It's a great idea, but the execution doesn't quite work - especially for the price tag. May try Dark Matter at some point to see if I get a better result....

Nice but nothing special

This is a pretty pale taupe shade when applied on its own, or intensifies the holographic eyeshadows from the same range when they’re applied on top. It’s nice enough but you can get the same effect from a MAC paint pot. The cream creases after a few hours too.
